did you know that guns can kill people?
Proof?
I'm sure owning a gun increases the risk of homicide for those going against the person defending themselves from home invasions or muggings. But seriously being responsible with your firearms(keeping the ammunition and gun separate or locked in a safe) and being a sane individual is almost guaranteed to prevent everything stated in the video.
Also what about newly manufactured guns? Their only history is being stamped or forged into existence lol.
With a history like that these guns probably cost quite a bit. I'll take the glock.
I really like his voice.
Did adam lanza even use a spooky black ar-15?
this gun killed a bunch of people? i'll take it.
I think the message was not "Let's not use guns" but rather "Guns are not fucking toys". Especially since this experiment was targeted at first-time gun buyers and people that probably don't own guns.

I don't see how mentioning spree murderers can convey that message. It's not like they went to a public place and wanted to play with their toys.
this is disgusting
It's just the regurgitation of information everybody has heard, but forced into the faces of unsuspecting people in an intense emotional blindsiding coupled with an awkward social confrontation
i mean there's a reason they only showed first-time buyers in the video, anyone pro 2nd amendment who still knows their shit and is a responsible firearms owner would probably be unfazed. maybe surprised at the sudden twist Ned Luke is trying to pull on them, but if you are a sane person and you own a firearm, you've already heard it all and you've got good reasons for your purchase.

because a lot of the time people buy these under the guise of self-protection but just want one cause it's cool. If you seriously need a gun to defend yourself you need to make a huge evaluation on your location, level of violence and crime, as well as a hundred other factors before making a commitment like this.
It's not necessarily something you should consider in a window-shopping fashion on your way to starbucks and go "ooh, guns".
When it comes to 1st time buyers of guns, or gun noobs that aren't the super intelligent legitimate respectable gun owners that probably are the gun majority of this forum that are snarkly judging this video- When it comes to those kind of people there are a higher chance that someone will steal the gun for suicide, someone will die because of misfire or lack of proper gun storage, or someone will steal the gun for crime/owner will the gun for crime than the owner getting the chance to successfully use it to save their life.
Its funny because alot of those guns are highly illegal in New York IIRC. Dont quote me 100% but CA laws are on par as NY

good thing all gun owners are pros
i'd like to see them try a similar "social experiment" with a knife store instead. i doubt it'd have even remotely the same effect on first time knife buyers if they said something like "that guy in china who went on a stabbing spree killed a bunch of people with this same kind of knife" or "that guy in the ISIS videos used this same kind of knife to behead those prisoners"
it's like these groups want everyone in america to think "guns are evil and only used for intentional murder" but knives and shit are perfectly ok cause they aren't as dangerous
good thing all gun owners are pros
Half of them are aren't. But instead of force feeding a sob story to first time buyers they could have used USEFUL information such as safety 101.

idk I feel like using a real-world example about why it's bad to keep a loaded gun in your purse when you're also holding a grabby baby/toddler in a Walmart should go hand-in-hand with other proper safety lessons.
the actual real-world repercussions of improper handling and safety etc.

Not this shit again. Knives and firearms are not comparable.
Oh wow. I don't want to cause a shit storm, but people on both sides of the argument are pretty silly.
Either ramming this over emotional trash down people's throats on one side, or on the other side stating what sort of people can own a gun safely. Describe a sane person and prove that they are sane. It's not easy.
Given that between a group of creatives (presumably with a couple extremist gun-haters and the such thrown in) they could only call a gun shop "THE GUN SHOP" I'm impressed with how well this was done. The "salesman" had perfect delivery, what with nonchalantly going between specs and the gun's history.
That said it's really silly and it's more of a "heyy maybe take care of your guns so your kids don't shoot each other. that's sort of your responsibility" kind of campaign. Because that's what most of the stories were, gun owner buys gun, doesn't fucking take care of it, and shit goes south. Mentioning spree killers is beyond the point, those are outliers and always have been. You can't deny everyone cars or knives or chainsaws because someone with problems goes and uses em for murder. Weaponry is commonplace and relatively easy to acquire in the US, there's no way you're gonna keep 100% of psychos away from them unless you stop selling them entirely (and this isn't the solution, because of the US gun culture)
I agree with Jim Jefferies and his opinion on Gun Control.
Don't shoot me.
i was most bugged by how almost every customer had their finger on the trigger.
The way he brought some of them up made it a little awkward.
"Hey, I'd like to buy a gun just in case i need to protect myself"
"Here, this one was used to shoot 5 babies and it burned down both an orphanage and a rescue shelter."

That's kinda the point.
did you know that guns can kill people?
i thought bullets do
well I suppose you could always batter the shit out of something with the stock or something
I can SORT OF see the message they're trying to convey. Its like saying "Buy this gun with a large sense of responsibility, not only for yourself, but for those around you." but, the way they went about it was a bit too far. Now watch one of these poor people be the victim of a crime they could've prevented if they had a gun. The reason I have a gun is for protection, its a .22, but it looks like a .45 1911 so its mostly scare factor.
Well at least they're proving that the weapons are effective.
No sense in buying a faulty gun for your first gun.
While I don't really agree with what he's getting at, it is pretty cool he is the actual Michael from GTA V. This reminds of Alfred Hitchcock's "Bang! You're dead!" TV episode, which was more scary than a lot of other media things which try to be alarming frankly.

In case anyone wants to watch.
I like the message they're getting across, but they most certainly could have delivered it much better.
It looks a bit staged too almost. I'd imagine if someone did this with no strings attached the persons reaction would either be "The fuck is wrong with you?" or "Wow.. can I have my gun now?"
i love these kinds of videos, they disable the comments for a reason
[editline]18th March 2015[/editline]
also barring the fact that like every single one of those guns is super illegal in NYC and NY state
