The super metroid 4 player race was the fucking best shit ever, dunno how I haven't heard of these marathons sooner. glad to see this years run was such a success, though. if you missed the super metroid run: http://www.twitch.tv/speeddemosarchivesda/b/494222408?t=7h51m20s i only caught a couple of them during the livestream so i'm gonna have to start digging through these now. i hear the goldeneye one is A++ as well
My favorite was actually the Borderlands 2 run, which surprised me because it sounded really dull from the name alone. But the runners had good personality, the commentary was informative, and there were a lot of neat tricks shown off. Plus a pair of devs on skype.
Good on them for raising so much for charity. Apparently it must have been interesting to watch as there was quite a few pics and gifs were showing up in LAMO pics of it.

The person who gave 10k later donated 3,333.37 cents. In total 13,333.37. A very expensive joke.
Here's a reddit thread with links to all the runs http://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/1ui4dn/agdq_vods_thread/cek0mmc Worst run this year by far, that I saw, had to have been the Minecraft run. Shit was just boring to watch
i would say minecraft and starcraft 2 were both on equal terms of bad game decisions to put into the schedule over the other games that could have been shown but were denied.

I missed the SC2 run, what was so bad? Just that it was SC2?
I missed the SC2 run, what was so bad? Just that it was SC2?
It wasn't a speedrun. it was a lets play. A very very boring one.
Definitely checkout the Punch-Out runs. Pretty good runs... blindfolded.
Oh oops, nevermind. Saw the link up above.
A run that I thought was pretty cool to watch was the Metroid: Zero Mission Low% Hard mode. It was pretty clutch at a lot of moments. On top of that, the Super Metroid race and blindfolded Punch Outs were awesome and a must watch. The DKC3 and one handed Mario 64 runs were pretty cool too.
I sat through the SC2 run for HL and HL2. Well worth the wait, but damn 3 hours of campaign was agonizing to watch. Honestly, RTS's for speed runs are really bad choices.
The F-Zero GX run was really great. I also enjoyed the Super Metroid race. It was insane how 1st and 2nd place were pretty much within frames of each other.

The entire F-Zero block this year was outstanding. Mario Kart 64 blew my mind how much you could break the game. The Goldeneye run was fantastic, barring the phrase "ohh baby" being said FAR too many times. Borderlands 2 was actually quite great. And more specifically if you missed it, go watch the Yoshi's Island Glitched % run that CarlSagan did. I laughed way too fucking hard at that. this: www.twitch.tv/speeddemosarchivesda/b/492923053?t=29h56m15s
