this week: update break reverse update ... update update
I'm scared about this one, to be honest.
Fixed muzzle flashes from toolgun appearing on viewmodel Finally.
Little will go wrong this time, if this is really all that has been changed then nothing will fuck up.
What does "Added ‘Downloaded Lua’ files cleanup on close" mean?
What does "Added ‘Downloaded Lua’ files cleanup on close" mean?
Those lua files you download when you join a server are cleaned up when you exit garrysmod, if I am not completely mistaken.
Not all cleaned up, just very old ones, to stop there being 50,000 files in that folder
Now if you could add the removal of dead headcrabs, that would be great. I seriously hate it when I gib something (or someone) and it stays there FOREVER.
gaaaah can't play until servers update for a tiny update
Entire update is babies!
Not all cleaned up, just very old ones, to stop there being 50,000 files in that folder
Thanks. :3:
Hrm, I guess I want to ask if anyone could possibly explain the update in laymans terms?
Garry, you should make a gmod binary svn, so you can keep newer versions to less people so there aren't as much issues with updates, and only release in steam as a "Stable build". I'd use the beta binaries for sure.
Garry the update is shit it keeps kicking people for not having script enforcer or osmthing
disconnected (reason "Kicked by Console : " "No ScriptEnforcer (Possibly client out of date?)"")
Hurrrrr. Lets add a long ass kick message even though it crashes clients. Great update! /sarcasm
Hrm, I guess I want to ask if anyone could possibly explain the update in laymans terms?
Added stuff and things so people who edit files and other stuff and gamemodes and all that can do more, fixed so two coding languages didn't get ignored and did some other stuff with view things. Also, scriptenforcer wont kick too soon, and old files you aren't using now go away.
And of course my gmod still doesnt start :(

Also this Dua deletion was another A+ idea. I love having to download 300+ files, so lets keep the downloads coming! /sarcasm Seriously, I can understand deleting the Dua on the server to prevent the string overflow thing from occuring, but the client.. Why?
You'll have to disable SE for now, It's not quite working yet. I need to collect some debug data first, so I've disabled that "No Scriptenforcer" kick on the SVN.

Why?
Honestly you're just being ridiculous, LUA files are so small that if it takes you any longer then two minutes it's a server you should stop playing on. People have had load times that were atleast five minutes purely because of how many DUA files they had. Clearing your cache speeds up your load time due to no longer having to load all of those files. And if you're thinking i'm lying, check Garry's stats on his website by Steamworks.

Yes, I'll stop playing on my own server. The loading was fine for me and took around 10 seconds to get in. Now I have to wait for these files I should already have. Anyway, now that I know that it only deletes files older than 30 days I'm fine with it. Was just a rage moment. [editline]08:10PM[/editline] That was a reply to MattSif.
So, if someone could answer my question. Are the animations back to being shared now?
Any day there is an update for Garry's mod it is a good day. Good work garry :buddy: (NOT sarcastic). [editline]08:21PM[/editline] Oh, and the people in the comment section [on garrysmod.com] are trolls at heart. He can't satisfy all, and at least he updates it and provides you with a game that can't be beat.
