Looking for a cool Keyboard and Mouse for gaming. From first person shooters to rpg's.
Thoughts?
I'd say a Razer Blackwidow - or any other mechanical keyboard, and a Logitech MX518.
Logitech G15 is a very solid keyboard. What's your budget?
Steelseries XAI and 6Gv2
Steelseries 6gv2 if you like silent keys, Razer blackwidow (not the blackwidow ultimate, it's a ripoff) is you like clicky keys.
Logitech is 90% gimmicky bullshit, only thing they've done right is the G5/mx518 mice and the z-5500 speakers.
As for mice, locitech mx518 or good quality second hand g5. G500 is decent but meh.
I hear good things about the steelseries xai but i've never used it myself.
I also hear that one/some of the microsoft intellimice versions are second to god but again, not used myself.
For a keyboard I prefer the Wolfking

Although of course it's main downside is lack of numpad
I think I am leaning MX815 and a mechanical Keyboard

518*
I hate it when people make these kinds of threads. It all comes down to personal preference. Some people enjoy mechanical keyboards enough to offset the fact that they are (usually) considerably more expensive than something like the G15 or a basic keyboard. Mice are even more personal, some people love the MX518, while others like the G500 for the extra options, while still others like different brands. The best thing to do would be to try some different keyboards and mice if you have a computer store around you, so that you can get what feels right for you.
I say this because all of these threads boil down to MX518 fanboys calling anyone who doesn't suggest the MX518 idiots and people that like Razer products getting called idiots by everyone. Please, go experiment on your own so you won't regret what you buy.
People that like razer products get called idiots because aside form the blackwidow, all razer products are overpriced gimmicky shit.

Oh and the whole "cult of razer" thing makes me hate the brand and anyone who buys into that shit with a burning passion.
You must get a mechanical keyboard, there is simply no way for me to type on other keyboards now. You just cannot go back.

Mechanicals aren't that much more - if you're looking for a gaming keyboard anyways, they're usually $50. There's good mechanicals for $60, even.

Let's not forget how expensive Logitech's stupid lcd keybaords are. Horrible keys on those.
Who actually uses numpad?
go play gmod then come back
IBM KB-8923
Not mechanical, but it's the best rubber dome keyboard I've used.
for a mouse I would say a Logitech G15, but they probably don't make those any more so anything along that family.
Logitech is what I stick with, best besides Steelseries IMO.
xai is the best mouse you can buy right now, for keyboard there isn't really a best
if you have no budget get a xai and das ultimate
optical master race
I'm liking my BlackWidow and MX518 combo, though mechanical keyboards aren't preferred by everyone. Since Razer has fairly good retail distribution, try looking around at Bestbuy and other electronics chains. The Blackwidow has a section of the packaging near the arrow keys opened to allow people to try out the mechanical keys. Occasionally, stores have some demo units open if you're lucky enough.

The only problem that I have with das is the image of the ultimate they have 90% sure they just photoshoped the labels off the image of the non ultimate. The image is here under ultimate. http://www.daskeyboard.com/#slide2

How much do these things cost? Also: I looked on the site and there is a 'silent' type, is it really silent or are they just shitting me?

What's wrong with photoshopping?
How much do these things cost? The only noise you'd hear is when you bottom them out, as they will make a 'clack' noise.
If you can afford it, you should really go with a Das Keyboard Ultimate or Pro (if you can't touch type).

I know not many people like em, but i'v been good with em for a long time now.
Removable Number pad is amazing. Also simple macro stuff is handy.
I'd say a Razer Blackwidow - or any other mechanical keyboard, and a Logitech MX518.
The main gripe that I have with the BW is that it only has 3 key rollover. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, but it's kind of important considering it's supposed to be a 'gaming' keyboard.
That is, unless they have fixed it.

This is what I kinda use.
I have G15 and I like them. No need to replace.
the funny thing is that whenever people talk trash about razer, the deathadder happens to be better than every Logitech mouse besides the G9x

in pure performance I mean, in comfort and build quality? debatable
