SAN FRANCISCO — California Governor Jerry Brown said he is not sure legalizing pot is a good idea in his state because the country could lose its competitive edge if too many people are getting stoned. [...] alifornians voted to legalize medical marijuana in 1996. But Brown said he is watching closely to see how Colorado and Washington handle their new laws that go a step further by regulating the growth and sale of taxed pot at state-licensed stores. “We have medical marijuana, which gets very close to what they have in Colorado and Washington. I’d really like those two states to show us how it’s going to work,” he said. “The world’s pretty dangerous, very competitive. I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together.”
http://www.politico.com/story/2014/03/jerry-brown-california-marijuana-104143.html?hp=l17
That's a pretty half-baked approach to the situation.
You know what else stoners do, right, Jerry? Put things off long after they're due.
Anyone have any idea on what is going on with I -502 in Washington? Have not heard anything about it in a long time. Really hope it isn't dead. I know its legal to own weed if you are over 21 but they have not figured out the whole dispensary thing as far as I know
I'm surprised it hasn't been done already, after all 70% of people in this state light up daily. Why do you think Los Angeles is so smoggy?

WA held a 30-day window for accepting licenses, and that window closed at the end of the year. Presumably, those license apps are being reviewed and, hopefully, some will be approved and things can get started. I mean its not even hard to get weed in CA. Look up a doctor on weedmaps, pay the fee (30-60$) then right after that you can go into any dispensary that you find on weedmaps. Or call and they can deliver it right to your house. It's a fucking joke, just legalize it.
Capitalism. Without it, this country is nothing. Why stop people from being happy, when they could be consumers, happy consumers at that? We have men and women that need jobs, some of which have prior experiences with growing marijuana from poverty issues, and we are telling them they can't use these prior experiences in a sense of agrarian capitalism, so that they could feed their families and put a nicer roof on their heads. Just fuck.... Let people be happy for once, and allow them to make money while being stoned out of their minds.
it's impossible to lose your competitive edge by drinking, because drinking does nothing to dull the senses or impair logic and cannot cause any sort of brain damage!
Out of the states that have legalized it ,or are considering it, have any make weed use a legally protected class? Without either this or federal legalization you can be fired for its use- even with a prescription.
