Man. Expected drop in quality. Though the Darkhorse comics were a bit insane, Marvel writers won't really know what to do with the franchise.

"Hey nerds, We're moving something WE OWN to be created by another company that WE OWN." God Disney we get it, you BOUGHT Star Wars, you BOUGHT Marvel. No need to rub it in.

Marvel comics are generally much better quality then Dark Horse comics, at least in my opinion. Its good to know that they are taking the helm in making Star Wars comics.
well the first Star WArs Comicès where made by Marvel. http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130921231534/starwars/images/5/58/Mswc1cover.jpg
I agree, although I wonder how much of the new books will be considered canon since almost none of the Dark Horse ones were.
Majority of the comics are 'canon'.
i dont see where they are 'rubbing it in'
Numerous Cameos in their sitcoms and cartoons and such. and the whole notion of this article is like saying I bought DC Comics and The Metro Series and said I was going have a company I bought make a comic based on an IP I also bought.
People would actually move from DH to Marvel? The fact that people would move from anything to Marvel is a bit of a surprise to me, but I've never had any issues with DH stuff.
Those comics from the Empire's POV are really good.
Majority of the comics are 'canon'.
So the one where Boba Fett actually makes it out of the pit and lives a sorta normal life is canon?
I await the return of Ship and human Jabba
So the one where Boba Fett actually makes it out of the pit and lives a sorta normal life is canon?
Well, I'm pretty sure it's canon that Boba Fett makes it out of the Sarlacc at all.
Well, I'm pretty sure it's canon that Boba Fett makes it out of the Sarlacc at all.
Would we want it any other way, though?
I've never cared for all of that 'canon' hogwash when it comes to Star Wars. What happens in the movies is the only canon, in my opinion. Sure I like a lot of EU aspects of Star Wars but that someone can say "this is what actually happened after Return of the Jedi!" or "that never happened before Empire Strikes Back!" is just really stupid.
The only recent Star Wars comic book series from Dark Horse that was good in my opinion was the Knights of the Old Republic series that lasted like half a decade. The rest have all been pretty bland. I think the Knights of the Old Republic comic series are also the only ones that are canon, since parts of the story was integrated into the SWTOR backstory.
So the one where Boba Fett actually makes it out of the pit and lives a sorta normal life is canon?
Pretty much the entire Expanded Universe makes it that he survived. The question is which bit of EU do you want to believe on the matter?
It's kinda fucked up to me cause I like Darkhorse and they've been loyal to the Star Wars IP for so long.

I loved the Marvel SW comics as a kid. Still have my favorites, but sold the big collection decades ago. Some of it was hokey, like that green rabbit guy, but fun to read. Dark Horse is good too. Never got into their SW stuff, but I might now. Sounds like they did a good job with it. I'm pretty sure 'canon' is going to be fucked the moment the new stories come out. So what. I enjoy the stories I like and avoid the ones I don't. My inner world is much more entertaining than pedantic hair-splitting canon.
The question is which bit of EU do you want to believe on the matter?
According to Lucas, none of the EU is canon except from the Clone Wars cartoon and Force Unleashed. Fuck you, George.

Which is one of the reason why DH has mostly grown to be associated with SW.
According to Lucas, none of the EU is canon except from the Clone Wars cartoon and Force Unleashed. Fuck you, George.
As far as I know, most people that like the EU are pissed off at what he did to Tatooine and the mandalorians in the cartoons. Also the clone wars cartoon isn't the EU but part of the main canon.
Pretty much the entire Expanded Universe makes it that he survived. The question is which bit of EU do you want to believe on the matter?
Actually most of the EU is generally well collated and they do seem to take steps in order for it not to conflict if possible. Bantamm, Dark horse and others certainly did try to maintain the universe. That said, Lucas did have some decision making in the Legacy series for instance. It was his decision|request that the one to die would be Anakin and Jacen to fall to the dark side as opposed to Anakin as was originally planned.
Great to see that that Luke Skywalker is fair game for Marvel Zombies 9 and nonchalant Spider-Man crossovers now.
