As she sat on the steps of St Martin-in-the-Fields, a young man approached her, told her it was “national kiss day” and asked her to kiss him. She smiled and said, “No, sorry, no.” Instead of accepting her answer, he demanded to know why. She answered: “Because I have no desire to kiss you.” Again, he persisted, asking: “What if I show you my nipple?” At this point, she told him to “fuck off”, and asked him what right he thought he had to speak to her in that way. Laughing it off with a sarcastic comment, he walked away.

The video, which ends with Drėgvaitė saying “fuck off”, has since been viewed over 700,000 times, and has 12,000 likes, 850 shares and more than 600 comments. To her horror, Drėgvaitė realised that hundreds of the comments focused on her, describing her as ugly, stuffy, stuck up, arrogant and dumb, calling her a snotty cow and a feminazi, and speculating about whether she was on her period.

“I was physically shaking,” says Drėgvaitė. “I feel sick and violated. The video was put up without my consent and now thousands of people are calling me a fat cow because I refused to kiss a man I had no desire to kiss.
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.

I'd be upset too.
I hate this "prankster" bullshit so fucking much. These people are just grade A douchebags and should really fuck right off.
One day you're minding your own business, the next hundreds of people hate you for no reason. I'd be upset too.
do you really care that much about the opinions of strangers who will probably forget about you in like, a day?
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.
I really want to ask you politely, but instead I'll ask how I really feel like about that reponse: What the fuck kind of question is that? Some random women get her harassment video-taped and uploaded to the internet and you're thinkin, "yeah bro, this girlie here is trying to cash in?" What's rattling around in your skull to come to such a stupid conclusion?
do you really care that much about the opinions of strangers who will probably forget about you in like, a day?
That isn't the point
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed.
Most places, the UK I'm sure being one of them, do not allow you to record people in public without their consent. You have to provide a written, traceable agreement that your face can be displayed in a video, and if that agreement is not provided, the author of the video is legally obligated to blur your face and erase mentions of your name and any detail that may compromise your private life. Most nations in Europe actually defend the right of people in public to remain anonymous when filmed/recorded/taken pictures of against their consent.
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.
I have no clue how you can be so lacking in empathy to think that some creep approaching you in public and aggressively demanding that you kiss them on camera over and over again only to post footage of that online to a huge audience of people that then you ridicule for not 'playing along' wouldn't cause some level of grief to someone.
thats ridiculous. its a space thats under "public" ownership. why can't you be filmed by another private citizen? what if you were just filming a home movie with some friends and someones face got in it, could they sue you? what the heck
there's a difference between catching someone in the background of your footage and openly harassing said person in public
what if you were just filming a home movie with some friends and someones face got in it, could they sue you? what the heck
If they ask you to blur them and you refuse, yea. Shows like COPS have lost so many episodes because the criminal didn't want to be on TV.
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.
What the fuck is she cashing in on, tell me
You are allowed to film in public without anyone consent/blurring faces as long as its only for private use
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? She is being insulted by strangers for a decision she was 100% right to make, which shows a worrying entitled attitude some people have A lot of people on Facepunch dislike prank related youtube channels, what with the whole 'it's just a prank bro!!' thing - this article is kind of like another reminder that they're shitty
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.
sick comment brah fuck women, whores deserve to be shamed online for just so happening to be in public WOOOO
Well, it's not like she's made tons of money off this right? In a way i feel like "Youtube Pranksters" have ruined the definition of pranks :pudge:.
Youtube pranksters harass everyone, Guardian only talks about the instances of it happening to women. But why?
Youtube pranksters harass everyone, Guardian only talks about the instances of it happening to women. But why?
because the writer's entire career was built around sexism
I don't even understand how you can be a "fan" of these people. Like, where does your life go so wrong to the point where this shit becomes enjoyable to you? What kind of fucked up upbringing leads to this? It's not content. It's objectively not entertainment. If you like any of these videos you're a fucking idiot.
Harassment to women or just people altogether?
Youtube pranksters harass everyone, Guardian only talks about the instances of it happening to women. But why?
But what about chemtrails?
These 'prank' videos are a cancer anyway so fuck that guy. He's lucky someone didn't knock him down for being a shit.
But what about chemtrails?
Gubbermint should stop making them.
Why do people say stupid shit like this? It's like what are you? A robot? Have some empathy Most people don't want to walk outside and get filmed by some random asshole for kicks.
He's right though. Celebrities have the paparazzi follow them around everywhere and take photos. How is that any different?
sorry, if you're in a public place you have a right to be filmed. still no excuse for these guys being assholes, but really, is she seriously suffering this much emotional distress? sounds like shes "cashing in" to me.
Wow. How developmentally challenged are you? If I went aroudd work and asked women there to kiss me there's a chance I'd be questioned by a superior for harassment, it shouldn't be any different just because it's a public place and being filmed
Youtube pranksters harass everyone, Guardian only talks about the instances of it happening to women. But why?
Pretty sure women get targeted by kissing and ass grabbing type "pranks" more often than men.
lol, it's Jack Jones, the guy that got smacked with pizza he really is a cunt isn't he, loves harassing people but calls the cops when it happens to him
Sue him for sexual harassment since he didn't leave after the first comment ez mone
