[release]This thread is part of a series of similar threads, all of which are meant to be a safe haven for all artists, nomatter if you're unsure of your ability and don't want to make a thread, are lazy and don't want to make a thread, or tend to get yelled at when you make a thread but feel like your work needs to be posted anyways. Previous Thread List: Creative Photography That Doesn't Deserve a Thread [v1.0] Creative Photography That Doesn't Deserve a Thread v2 - In Memoriam Banner Credits go to FunnyCat[/release] Is there any criteria as to what I can post? Your job here is to post pictures you're proud of, so long as they come from some sort of camera. This isn't a dumping ground for a batch of stuff from that party you got drunk at last night, posts still require some form of artistic integrity. If it's related to the discussion at hand, maybe, but, whatever. nobody wants to see fifty people they don't know holding three beers each and having trouble looking at the camera with both eyes. WHY should I post here, and not make a new thread (or not post anything and cry in a corner)? As opposed to individual threads, this thread is much more conducive to getting people talking back and forth about techniques and equipment, since derailing the conversation is kind of the point. Also, If you only have one picture to show, it's better not to make a whole thread about it unless it's fucking awesome. :siren:RATINGS AND CRITIQUES HEAVILY ENCOURAGED:siren: There's nothing like thinking your pic isn't worth posting, then finding out everyone loved it. Keep critiques friendly, but don't spare the details. If someone really messed up, tell them how you think it can be fixed, instead of bitching them out for not knowing something that you know/wish you knew and pretend you do. --
Morning daijitsu. I went to bed last night when I was tired, and now it's tomorrow, I've woken up, about to go to Uni and the new threads been created. Sweet timing :D I'll leave you guys with these two: DSC_3029 by edwin.quast, on Flickr DSC_3102 by edwin.quast, on Flickr Shot of my girlfriend in a doorway and a self portrait. Both taken in Deal last year.
I love the doorway, would be perfect to me if it was framed closer so you could only see the door's wood and paint, but whatever. Awesome nonetheless
Re-posting these two. I like the abstractness in this b&w. and in colour. Was fucking pissed when I came back home and noticed that my camera settings were screwed! It became so tiny!!!!
I love the doorway, would be perfect to me if it was framed closer so you could only see the door's wood and paint, but whatever. Awesome nonetheless
I think I have to disagree. I like the drainpipe and the clean and dirty side of the wall.
First I have some light painting I did a month or so back for the fun of it. My favorite photo of one of my cats, I don't have many photo's of her sadly. And for the thread title's sake some bokeh I was fooling with, I'll make a mask soon and play with that. Click the images for full resolution shots.

Also, have a Wombat. He came out of nowhere and disappeared pretty quickly, but I was lucky enough to have had enough time to shoot a few frames, let alone even see one in the wild.
I'm loving the animal pictures in this thread. I also really like the one of the doorway, the pipe and discoloration gives the scene character.
I haven't done one of these in a while. 182/365. I hate having this dark/wet/cloudy weather, makes it difficult to take decent photos.
I hate having this dark/wet/cloudy weather, makes it difficult to take decent photos.
Cloud cover is a giant softbox in the sky.
tell me how!
I think he takes a picture of the background, then a picture with the subject balancing on a stool and then traces around the stool in Photoshop or some other Image Editing alternative and erases it that way. I'm not sure entirely though, He might be using a better technique.
Off for my first event shoot tonight, 6 bands with an audience of 300+. I'm taking my 50mm 1.4 which will come in nifty as soon as I dial in the settings to get good pictures. Any suggestions?
I only got my DSLR on Monday so I would love some criticism.
I think he takes a picture of the background, then a picture with the subject balancing on a stool and then traces around the stool in Photoshop or some other Image Editing alternative and erases it that way.
Spot on. Sometimes I add in an extra step and take a shot holding something over where the subject is inteneded to be, to create a shadow. I didn't really need to in that shot because there wasn't really a shadow there anyway (580exii camera right). I do have an example of when I did do that, though. Latir had an amazing one a few pages back in v2.
I used to think it was some amazing camera trick, I was sad when I discovered it's just done in photoshop.
I used to think it was some amazing camera trick, I was sad when I discovered it's just done in photoshop.
That's not as bad as all the flickr comments asking if the subject 'got hurt falling'.
