The movie — which will require a 12-week absence from his duties on “The Daily Show” — is an adaptation of the 2011 book “Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity and Survival,” by Maziar Bahari and Aimee Molloy. http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/03/05/jon-stewart-to-direct-serious-film-will-take-hiatus-from-daily-show/

I haven't watched the Daily Show in years, but doesn't he traditionally take a break during the summer? Or is it the winter?

This is exciting, I love Jon so much. He's so smart and charming that if he's confident he can write a good movie I have faith it will be great.
I really like his bits on the Daily Show, but I find the other segments are often a lot less interesting or funny.
Nevermind. Apparently it will be Jon Oliver.
I wonder who will be filling in for him, if they have a fill-in at all.
John Oliver. Please be John Oliver.
John Oliver. Please be John Oliver.
I read the source. Jon Oliver is confirmed.
He seems like only of the least "host-like" characters on the show to be doing the hosting, which I think makes him the most interesting choice.
John Olliver gets my vote. Mostly because he's the only one other than Stewart who I can name off the top of my head, having not watched the show for a couple years.
Here's hoping the movie isn't shit.

I'm sure there are some more that I'm forgetting but those are the ones I remember. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] Oh! John Hodgman, I love him.
Sweetness. I love Jon Stewart, he's hysterical as well as politically charged. Can't wait to see a serious film from him, you often hear of serious actors doing comedic roles but when it's reversed it's a lot more impactful. Looking forward to it.
Wyatt Cenac left, though.
What happened to Sam Bee and Jason Jones? I haven't seen the show in months.
They're still there. Olivia Munn left a while ago, as did Kristen Schaal I think. The new girl, Jessica Williams has been doing pretty good, though.
I'm excited as hell about this. Stewart is capable of a lot more than just comedy and satire.
