Jon Stewart to Take 12-Week Absence to Direct a 'Serious Film'

[td][B]Mr. Stewart, the stand-up satirist and “Daily Show” host, said on Tuesday that he would direct his first movie, a drama called “Rosewater,” from a screenplay that he wrote.

The movie — which will require a 12-week absence from his duties on “The Daily Show” — is an adaptation of the 2011 book “Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity and Survival,” by Maziar Bahari and Aimee Molloy.[/B]

He and Colbert usually just take 1-2 week breaks spread throughout the year

Well there is Jon, John Oliver, Kristen Schaal, Olivia Munn (Sometimes), and Wyatt Cenac. I'm sure there are some more that I'm forgetting but those are the ones I remember.

Sweetness. I love Jon Stewart, he's hysterical as well as politically charged. Can't wait to see a serious film from him, you often hear of serious actors doing comedic roles but when it's reversed it's a lot more impactful.

They're still there. Olivia Munn left a while ago, as did Kristen Schaal I think. The new girl, Jessica Williams has been doing pretty good, though.
