Uninstalling daemon tools lite causes BSOD

So whenever I try to uninstall DT lite, I am confronted with a BSOD

I need to uninstall it to upgrade to windows 8.

I solved the problem by renaming Pxhelp20.sys to Pxhelp20temp.sys and rebooting, then uninstalling again
