I'll believe it when I see it.
I like that they've dared to be a little bold and take battlefront in a different direction, but I feel as if they've kind of missed the mark. It feels less space battle-scenario game and simply more team vs team battlefield.
mad max did the right thing; show off actual damn gameplay with your big 'reveal' but battlefront won't even show off the gameplay yet
By removing the space battles and making them DLC before the game is even shown puts a bad Battlefield taste in my mouth so...
Yeah guys it has first AND third person!
By removing the space battles and making them DLC before the game is even shown puts a bad Battlefield taste in my mouth so...
They removed space battles because Battlefield doesn't have space battles. They're replacing the jets and helicopters with X-Wings and snow speeders. Not a reskin my arse.
Yeah guys it has first AND third person!
Hey also no ADS. That's very un battlefield like.
I'm less than optimistic about this game.

People seem to have really forgotten about Battlefront 1 when they say this Battlefront doesn't resemble Battlefront enough. Only comparisons to II. Ever.

No reason to rush to try and match + 1up the content that another studio had already built up over 2 games.

A remake of of the original would be fine, but that's not what this is. There are plenty of things missing, it's not just the lack of Space battles.

I just want to know what you think is missing from battlefront 1)
Like what, aside from the clone wars? (I'm not saying I'm impressed with this game thus far, because I'm not. I just want to know what you think is missing from battlefront 1)
From what i've read so far the Clone Wars isn't included, there's no fully controllable AT-AT, no galactic conquest mode, it doesn't have a proper campaign/story, no classes (at least not in the same way as previous games), there are far fewer planets (only 4) which will mean less map variety, possibly fewer maps (not confirmed how many there are, but they said at least 2 per planet), several important movie locations are missing, it has smaller battles (40 players maximum) and no bots (other than in the missions mode) or instant action mode. Individually some of those things aren't really important, but together that's a lot of content missing.
possibly fewer maps (not confirmed how many there are, but they said at least 2 per planet),
We know it is more then 8, that's about it. They have not given an exact number. [editline]26th April 2015[/editline]
Yup, this news article would be as well titled "Guy who's job it is to sell Battlefront III assures you it is not Battlefield: Star Wars"
But it isn't Battlefront 3. It is a reboot called Battlefront. It isn't a sequel. Just like how the last Tomb Raider was reboot, or how Doom 3 was practically a reboot as well. (tho it kept the numbering) [editline]26th April 2015[/editline] I don't disagree that it is lacking content, I'm just saying don't treat it is a sequel building off the previous game. I think the problem is, that they only had 2 years of development, and feels like EA is pushing them to release it near the movie.

That AT-AT non-controllable was only confirmed for the specific ATAT assault type mode. Also the game has guided battles strung along. That's literally all battlefront story has ever been.

I don't care about a campaign, the original Battlefronts and 2 as well sucked ass. Further, Galatic Conquest had to be one of the most boring things on the planet. It had so little to it. [editline]26th April 2015[/editline] Also, weren't half the maps in Battlefront 2 from the original Battlefront?

Especially playing makeshift 4 player galactic conquest with hosting games with appropriate bonuses and keeping score of points. I wish that it would have been worked on further.

Seriously, it felt tacked on and while the space battles were nice it wasn't nearly as polished nor taken as far as it had to go.

Have people forgotten people played Battlefront because it was Battlefield with a Star Wars skin? And from what I've heard, it's shaping to be more like CoD than Battlefield. I don't think it'll be bad, just a varying quality from okay to good.

Even if it wasn't too good in the previous games, that doesn't mean this one would be bad as well and it isn't a good reason to leave it out of this one - Battlefront 3 was going to have a proper story, and what we saw of that looked pretty good.
The description of Missions gives me the impression that they function EXACTLY as the old campaigns did. When they say there's no campaign, they're more than likely talking about a campaign as most modern gamers know it; a linear narrative with cutscenes and shit.
Battlefront 3 was going to have a proper story, and what we saw of that looked pretty good.
A story you can possibly experience by playing one of the PSP games, Battlefront: Elite Squadron (or watching a LP) From what we know, it was the same story. The leaked Free Radical footage had a cutscene from it, albeit it with better graphics. The file list in the game mentions Battlefront 3, there is also a logo for Battlefront 3. My theory is the ES was originally made as a portable version of BF3, and was renamed when the main version of BF3 was cancelled. The leaked Console version has some of the same maps as well. Plus the PSP game also has Ground to Space combat, tho there is a short loading screen between them. I can't see them being useful in a MP game, unless it is some sort of escort the VIP game mode.
I'd prefer an entire game dedicated to space battles over a space battle mode in a game that doesn't focus on it. Seriously, if Battlefront could come back, so can starfighter.

It'd only take like 50ish years.
