They fucked up (as in, did something VERY unprofessional) and accidentally uploaded a picture sent from John McAfee without removing the location data first. To be fair though, John McAfee is the bigger idiot for not disabling that function on his phone in the first place.

Good point. That was just an assumption on my part, as I've never seen a camera (other than a smartphone) that records the location data.
Even if they didn't accidentally reveal where they were the cops would have found him regardless. Not to mention they could have just moved somewhere else if they were that concerned.

Of course he would have had a high chance of being caught eventually, but that doesn't change the fact he has every right to be pissed off at the news agency that failed to keep his life safe. Keep in mind the government trespassed his property, shot (and killed) one of his beloved dogs, stole property, and overall handled the entire case with complete brutality over a completely bullshit claim. If I remember correctly, the dog wasn't even a threat. Also, 42 armed men for a raid? Really?
We don't have the other side to the story, but as McAfee said, it seems they're trying to take him down with any bullshit "cause" whatsoever. Listen to the alibi from 1:50 for a quick run-down of the previous situation.

The news agency that did what they were asked by posting a photo he gave them? Why the fuck didn't he look into the metadata before sending them the photo and asking them to post it?
