His lawyer, Mr. Guerra, accompanied him to Emigrason Albergue in Guatemala City and he is attempting to get John out before his press conference tomorrow. Updates to come.
Only a matter of time I suppose. Also him stating his alibi:
If I were John McAfee, the first thing I'd do is file a restraining order against VICE.
If I were John McAfee, the first thing I'd do is file a restraining order against VICE.
Why? He's actively wanting them to follow him around to document everything.
Why? He's actively wanting them to follow him around to document everything.
They fucked up (as in, did something VERY unprofessional) and accidentally uploaded a picture sent from John McAfee without removing the location data first. To be fair though, John McAfee is the bigger idiot for not disabling that function on his phone in the first place. To my knowledge, this is the entire reason he was caught in the first place.

McAfee is fucking crazy also, that is why he is enjoying the documentary crew.
Who even said it was his phone? McAfee is fucking crazy also, that is why he is enjoying the documentary crew.
Good point. That was just an assumption on my part, as I've never seen a camera (other than a smartphone) that records the location data.
Even if they didn't accidentally reveal where they were the cops would have found him regardless. Not to mention they could have just moved somewhere else if they were that concerned.
I've never seen a camera (other than a smartphone) that records the location data.
How about every single modern one?
who is john mcafee did he create that antivirus shit
Yep.
Even if they didn't accidentally reveal where they were the cops would have found him regardless. Not to mention they could have just moved somewhere else if they were that concerned.
Of course he would have had a high chance of being caught eventually, but that doesn't change the fact he has every right to be pissed off at the news agency that failed to keep his life safe. Keep in mind the government trespassed his property, shot (and killed) one of his beloved dogs, stole property, and overall handled the entire case with complete brutality over a completely bullshit claim. If I remember correctly, the dog wasn't even a threat. Also, 42 armed men for a raid? Really? We don't have the other side to the story, but as McAfee said, it seems they're trying to take him down with any bullshit "cause" whatsoever. Listen to the alibi from 1:50 for a quick run-down of the previous situation. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline]
who is john mcafee did he create that antivirus shit
Yes.
That's the guy who created the anti-virus software?! Bizarre.
That's the guy who created the anti-virus software?! Bizarre.
Considering how "well it runs", not really.
I like how he goes and plays a wooden flute while he's being arrested.

Why the fuck didn't he look into the metadata before sending them the photo and asking them to post it?
McAfee always annoyed me. Always popping up as complementary software while installing something. Bugs me when I have to constantly remove it from my dad's computer because he doesn't know how to uncheck boxes.

he hasn't been involved with the anti-virus for almost 20 years why do people keep bringing it up?
he hasn't been involved with the anti-virus for almost 20 years why do people keep bringing it up?
Because it only has his surname on it.
He looks like a Bond villain.
He has to tell the Journalist FIVE goddamn times that he's being Jailed. Now i know these hipsters have to fish for monologues that explain everything so they don't have to bring the only non-annoying person on Vice in (Shane) to do VO. But holy fucking christ. Maybe i'm just short tempered, but i'd blow a fuse at some point.
