I've found myself an old Pentium 3 laptop I had stored away, and I went and upgraded it from 98 to Windows XP for the time being (It only has 256MB currently, but I'm sure one of the modules from another spare I have will work).
Only problem is, it's screen is fuzzy; as if the pixels are always shifting left then right very fast all the time. I figured this would be a faulty screen or cable problem, as the problem occurs even when the first text appears at boot.
A new screen for such a laptop is something I'm not going to get, but I'm wondering if anyone knows any other reasons it does this which may be fixable.
Specifications from Sys Information:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
System Model HP OmniBook PC
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 11 Stepping 1 GenuineIntel ~731 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD GF.M1.14, 11/27/2002
SMBIOS Version 2.3
Total Physical Memory 256.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 49.34 MB
I'm pretty sure the GFX is an 845GMA, or the lesser 815GMA.
Any help appreciated.
predicting a 99% chance that it isn't fixable.
Does the laptop have a port you can hook a external monitor to?

If yes, does a regular monitor do this too? I have my P3 machine plugged into the VGA input of my monitor (gaming computer on the DVI) and it fuzzes a bit, but the gaming machine works fine.
