Dear Hitman fans,
[...]
In the next game you will experience a globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career – the apex predator stalking his prey across the world, with the support of his long-term handler Diana Burnwood and the whole of the ICA.
[...]
Contracts Mode is back – you will be able to create and build challenges by experimenting with the large levels and possibilities within them. And of course, you can share them with the world and challenge your friends or foes to complete your hits. Your rules, your Contracts.
You will also be glad to hear that we have removed 47’s magic pockets. We believe that’s all we need to say about that subject.
As we get further into 2014, we will reveal more and get into much closer contact with all of you. There are so many things we have planned and we are extremely excited for the future of Hitman.
Thank you all for your dedication. We will share much, much more in the coming months.

I am very pleased with what I'm hearing, it sounds like they took to heart the things about Absolution that didn't work too well, and incorporating the things that made Contracts and Blood Money so great.
I really enjoyed Absolution but I liked the way disguises worked in Blood Money way more, higher risk but higher reward.

Absolution was neat because well it was more Hitman but the disguise system really was broken and counter-intuitive compared to how it was before.
Instinct was kind of shit as well but really it was basically the map screen and I tended to play the older Hitman games on higher difficulties where you could only use the map for navigation and seeing yourself and your targets.
i think that there did need to be some changes to the way Blood Money did disguises, but Absolution messed it up more than was necessary
i hated absolution, not because it wasnt a good game, but because the maturity of the narrative that blood money had, and the whole approach to realism was perfect for me, the game needed lots of improvement yeah, the engine sucked and it had several hilarious bugs, but for me, the whole artistic change and casualization werent needed and they even ruined the experience for me. Hope they work that out, but who knows.
Fucking yes.
Airport terminals are fucking sexy. Both IRL and in-games. I'm judging by the promo image that you'll spend time in airports.
Blood Money is one of my favourite games of all times, and I absolutely hated Absolution. The fucking "mana" system (or whatever the fuck it was) was really stupid, disguises barely did anything and you had to hide the bodies in certain, pre determined places and not just where the NPC's wouldn't notice. Shit game.
What do they mean about magic pockets? I haven't played absolution in a while. So glad to hear they are heading in the right direction. The new disguise system was the most annoying thing for me personally. I even like the scoring system, but I'd like it more if it wasn't stupid and biased.
They really should make it with the same mechanics as Blood Money had, it just played better.

I think they mean how you can carry 5 pistols and 10 SMG's, alongside 6 syringes and binoculars.
they better not fuck up david bateson as they almost did with absolution
I really dug the Contracts Mode idea in Absolution, but the levels simply weren't big enough to allow for any real sandbox gameplay. I'm glad to see they're changing this, it'll allow for some really serious and unique experiences

I am quite certain they are referring to the fact that in Absolution you could holster big two-handed weapons such as rifles and shotguns, even several of them I believe. In the older games this was not possible as they were too big for your coat, so you simply put them in your left hand.
This in turn made it risky to walk around with firepower as you would be spotted immediately.
I'm so glad they're going back to the style of the previous games. I liked Absolution, but I hated how linear it was for a Hitman game. It kills any replay value for me. I only ever find myself replaying 2 levels from Absolution.

The points system in game wound me up a bit.
I also wasn't that happy with the storyline in absolution - I preferred the target based approach in Blood Money to the almost linear style parts of Absolution where you didn't really have targets so much as NPCs you were meant to kill whilst going through the level. The corn fields are a pretty good example of this, as is the tower block hotel and end level.
I wouldn't call absolution terrible, but it didn't feel too Hitman-y imo.
I liked some aspects of the disguise system. But blending in with a disguise needed to be more than "I'm holding the brim of my hat down, ignore me." "I'm rubbing my face, ignore me." I mean, its not like the disguise system was tremendously better in the older ones.

i think that little example sums the whole problem up. In blood money, at the white house mission, you had to sneak up your guns in someone elses briefcase, so when the metal detector detects it, they blame that person but the guards still take the briefcase in so they can take a look at it and then you could steal them back.
In absolution, you select a weapon and it magically appears in your hand. Fuck that.

It was fucking hilarious in Blood Money. The sailor outfit on the Louisiana steamer was great, no-one was bald except for 47, and they don't realise.

You can also throw your weapons over the fence just past the door and go and pick them up from the other side.

You're reading into it way too much, man. I think it's just to signify that 47's going to be going to different places all around the world like the first 3 games. It's concept art (or possibly from a cutscene)
It was fucking hilarious in Blood Money. The sailor outfit on the Louisiana steamer was great, no-one was bald except for 47, and they don't realise.
That level is hilarious just because I'd find as many people to throw overboard as I could.
There were so many goofy things you could do, like on the one at the cliffside playboy house at Christmas time (You better watch out I think it was called?) and how you could just wait at the start of the level for him to get in the hottub then shoot out the glass bottom. Watching the guy just kinda half-float down to the ground was great.
remember in absolution where if you put on a full SWAT suit with helmet and mask and basically only your eyes are seen and people still recognised you from a distance of 500m
remember that
(this was on Purist mode which was the only mode i wanted to finish the game at)
Unpopular opinion time.
I thought that disguises in Blood Money and how they let you go anywhere with impunity were too easy, and that the disguises in Absolution were more enjoyable because they weren't an untethered free pass.
You can also throw your weapons over the fence just past the door and go and pick them up from the other side.
That is literally exactly what I did every time. I'd just toss them over that side gate. So there's just a bald guy in a suit throwing firearms over a fence at the White House, nothing suspicious there.

Enemies could spot you far too easily in Absolution if you weren't blending, but they were blind if you put on the same shirt as them in Blood Money.
What I DID like, however, was that in Blood Money, sometimes you had to "build your way up." In the theater, I had to disguise as a janitor, which in turn allowed me an opportunity to disguise as a guard, etc.
I fucking love IOI.

Yeah, there are all-access disguises to get a hold of, but they're usually not in abundance and pretty hard to get a hold of. While there are limited access disguises that you can more or less easily get.

Ahhhh yes that is much better. That fucking tense approach to your planted sniper, assembling, really felt like an actual hitman. Re-installed blud mon£y
At least they're taking the feedback they've received seriously, instead of going all-out EA.

Or, in Blood Money just carry a detonator in your main hand, which somehow makes you invisible whilst carrying a 2 handed weapon. :v:
Some bugs were hilarious.
I always felt that Blood Money was closer to an adventure/puzzle game where the puzzle was to find the most efficient way to kill somebody than it was to an action game.

I don't see being a professional assassin as being guns blazing, I see it as being methodical in your approach, one shot, one kill and getting out before anyone figures out what happened.

dear lord how I did not need to be reminded, so much rage was brought out of me
Knock a guy out, receive negative points, put on his suit when NO ONE has seen me
get 'detection' notices from just peaking out a window, like holy shitnuggets
