Under the deal, Dentsu holds worldwide broadcast and licensing rights for the new TV series. It has a target airdate of 2017, coinciding with the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Man of Action Entertainment will create, write and executive produce the series. Between this and the actually really great Archie comics, it's weird to see how we're only getting western-made Megaman content. First time they've tried the animated series thing since the Starforce anime. Did you know they made a Starforce anime? Now you do.
I love Mega Man to fucking death and while this is good news, I can't help but think it'll go the way of sonic boom. One can hope it'll be a gateway to better things
First time they've tried the animated series thing since the Starforce anime. Did you know they made a Starforce anime? Now you do.
I knew there was a Starforce anime, but I kinda forgot it even existed. That had to of been upwards to 6-7 years ago, damn. And besides the Archie comics, a couple nostalgia games and some cameo and guest appearances, the last 'game' Mega Man's had in several years now is Xover. Damn. My only fear is that they either make a comedy-like Sonic Boom show, or this somehow ends up worse than Ruby Spears' Mega Man.
Who is "Man of Steel?"
Here are some links that have some more info http://www.themmnetwork.com/blog/2015/6/2/new-mega-man-cartoon-on-track-for-2017 http://www.rockman-corner.com/2015/06/new-mega-man-tv-series-in-works-for-2017.html The people working on the show worked on superhero shows like Ultimate Spider-Man, Ben 10 and some other ones.
Man of Action not Man of Steel
Well, the Rockman.EXE anime was good, and the Sonic Boom cartoon was nice even if the game sucked, so this could be at least decent.
I don't know if I have a lot of faith in this... I mean yeah sure, it's great Capcom isn't forgetting that Megaman exists, but without Inafune to give guidance on the series anymore, I feel like they're going to drive it into the ground.
Man of Action not Man of Steel
Whoops. Paging a mod to fix that.

Ben 10 was alright and Ultimate Spiderman was probably the best spiderman in a decade.
The only thing I'm kinda worried about is the art style and story. I'd be completely fine if it was based off the Archie comics though.
Mega Man Legends 3 goddamnit.
