When I try to access my router's configuration settings by going to http://192.168.0.1 It always has a problem loading page. Has anyone experienced something similar or know how to handle this?
That might not be the right address, what kind of router is it?
Well, It's a Netgear model CGD24G and I have tried using the 192.168.1.1 as well.
Does pinging 192.168.0.1 work?
And if you run ipconfig what does the default gateway say?
default gateway is blank, and what is pinging?
The default gateway shouldn't be blank, there may be more than one adapters listed with that command.
As for pinging the command is:
ping 192.168.0.1
Okay I pinged and tried the url again no luck, there are three adapters listed with ipconfig, one is blank, one is 192.168.0.1 and one says media disconnected so it does not have a default gateway.
Did pinging it say "Destination host unreachable"?
And if you haven't tried it already, power cycle.
It did not say destination host unreachable
I should just restart the computer?
The router
Alright I think I'll try that tomorrow, I don't know how to turn the power off and I don't want to mess up my settings.

192.168.1.254 is my router's address.
that's nice ^ (and totally pointless information)
if he doesn't have a default gateway, it might be because the router hasn't provided a DHCP lease
it probably has a label with the default gateway on it, you might need to put yourself in the same address range as the router in order to configure it.
unless something dumb is being done and you're trying to access it on the wrong port
