So I've posted twice on this forum asking for help with constant internet disconnections and problems. Now not only is that problem still occurring, but my download speed has been dropped to a lower rate. At the start I first thought it was a problem with my router and call after call of wasted money, AOL finally sent out a new router which would provide me with an apparent "Brilliant new experience"- Horseshit. I was then on the phone with the marketing section a couple of days ago and the woman on the phone assured us that she would get in contact with an engineer and inform them of the problem so that they could come to my home to sort this bollocks out. An hour later and an Indian woman called up. Not only was she NOT informed of anything about the current situation and that she said she was in INDIA but also she then said she would call up again later to help with the problem. No call came through at all from anyone which basically left me and my family in the dark.
I currently cannot change my ISP to due to the fact I currently have a contract with AOL until January. I advise anyone thinking to sign up with AOL to change to Sky or anything else, not only would it stop you from being caused constant trouble, but you would also receive a much better service rather than this excuse for a ISP. Terrible Customer Service, Slow Speeds and Download Rates and a money grabbing business. Not only can I not play online properly due to constant disconnections but I also lose connection on my Ipod due to this annoyance.
EDIT: Internet has gone down 11 times since posting.

Nobody uses AOL these days for reasons like these. AOL have had their life span during the late dial-up years in the UK.
To be honest I didn't even know they still provided internet...

... and this is why. I pay just about the same for unlimited 24Mb/s
I have AT&T here in the US, at night, every 3 minutes or so, connection goes down, EVERY FUCKING NIGHT. and i pay $40 for 6mbps.
To be fair OP, that's exactly what AOL is known for
My mom has had an AOL account under various plans of theirs for probably close to 20 years now. The only good thing I have to say about them is that you can connect to them from a local dialup number ANYWHERE, and I mean anywhere.
I've done a fair bit of traveling in the states and even in the most remote areas on the fringes of society, you can still dial into them with a local number and get on the internet. It keeps you sane.
Well I was finally elevated to Level 2 support yesterday and what they've asked me to do today will decide whether it was either my fault or their's.
EDIT: AOL's fault.
EDIT 2: Is there any where to report this disgusting service? I would like some compensation for this failure of a service.
Well after wasting time on many phone calls I have an engineer on the way in 2 days. Any advice? Are the AOL engineers good?
