They hoped to perform a full building inspection, but nixed the idea due to safety concerns, Pontiac Mayor Deirdre Waterman told MLive Friday. She said the city wants a "fuller understanding" of the stadium's current state and to determine whether it violates city code. The main reason the team canceled the inspection is due to lack of lighting. They did ensure the exterior and perimeter were secured to keep out trespassers, Waterman said.
[t]http://imgick.mlive.com/home/mlive-media/width960/img/detroit/photo/2014/12/29/-97ad972b65f04352.jpg[/t][t]http://imgick.mlive.com/home/mlive-media/width960/img/detroit/photo/2014/12/29/-05bfe4e3f4cae9d8.jpg[/t]
That's really depressing to look at.
Looks like the holy grail of urbex locations.
Looks like the holy grail of urbex locations.
If you don't mind the risk, Detroit is full of places like that.
I wonder how it lead up to a disaster like this.
It's always astounding how fast buildings go to complete hell when you stop maintaining them. Think this place has only been completely unattended 4-5 years

Wow, I remember seeing Motocross and Monster Jam at the Silverdome when I was a kid. So weird to see it looking like the a level in The Last of Us.
It's always astounding how fast buildings go to complete hell when you stop maintaining them. Think this place has only been completely unattended 4-5 years
stadiums are very weird, even unoccupied for a few months the baseball stadium in cleveland looks like abandoned. its really a problem with the location, if it was out in like arizona or even california, it could sit there for years and look the same, but the weather is so harsh to these buildings which are really built for constant maintenance in mind
That's a place I wouldn't mind spending a day by myself or maybe with a friend or 2 in.
Is Detroit even a real place?
Is Detroit even a real place?
It takes place in an alternate reality where there is no economy.
holy shit it's still up? i thought it was torn down
It takes place in an alternate reality where there is no economy.
Everyone trades in 9mm bullets and cans of spam. It's a shame that places end up like this. If it weren't so expensive the best thing to do with any abandoned property is to send in a proper salvage crew followed by a demolition contractor. Just turn these places into grass lots or tree nurseries.
Looks like the zoo from The Last of Us.
If you don't mind the risk, Detroit is full of places like that.
I imagine it's like Camden NJ except the time it takes you to get shot is significantly higher
If you don't mind the risk, Detroit is like that.
Fixed.
If you don't mind the risk, Detroit is full of places like that.
Check out any Detroit suburb and count the number of boarded up houses on each street. Bonus points if it's a former crime scene.
