Oh my! I played the shit out of The Sims Online back in the days.
I'm pretty sure I made my current hotmail account because of the Sims Online (The oldest mail I have is from June 2004 about me registering).
I loved the waiter job by the way!
Its sad to think about how Maxis will never truly capitalize on ideas of the modding community.
And that if they did make a sims online it would be doomed to fail because of their past fuck ups

aside from being the fact that they were snuffed by EA, of course
Honestly I wish there was some kind of competitor to The Sims, it's kinda a niche market yeah, but nobody else is doing that kind of game.

I'm honestly surprised no indie studio has popped up and made a spiritual successor to The Sims. I'd love a game like that with updated mechanics, open world and multiplayer. Yeah, it's pretty niche, but Altis Life on Arma 3 and various RP game modes on Gmod are popular because there's nothing really like this out there.

Bring back the direct sim control from the Sims 2 (PS2) pls (Controlling actions like a third person shooter as well as being able to click to have them do actions). AFAIK It was the only game in the series to have it and I quite enjoyed that.

Surprising here too, considering how things like Planet Coaster and Cities: Skylines filled the gaps of shitty remakes/dead series (Sim City/RCT)
Sims 4 could work well as a little instanced MMO I think. Get on it EA

War for the Overworld comes to mind. Dungeon management needed some love too. I'd also like to see something for Giants Citizen Kabuto.

Honestly, fuck EA. They do nothing but piss me off with their recent incompetence (Titanfall 2's release date), the fact they hog the Star Wars IP for themselves (so many good SW games came out between different companies) and for most of their large amount of general fuckups in the past. In an ideal world there would be some genuine competition between several larger companies so you could at least get a game that has less amounts of always-on BS (SimCity) or an "impressive" helping of microtransactions (Dungeon Keeper on phones). Kind of like when the two FPS juggernauts were still compared against one another but preferably make it with less brain damage.
That said, I'd love to see a Sims successor that combines the customization and open world of 3 with the improvements from 4 plus some kind of interesting online integration. That would probably sell a million copies when every journo make their well-known "It's like X meets Y!" articles.
