Does such a thing exist? I type all day and my hands start to hurt. I guess a laptop style keyboard may help so I don't bang my fingers on the sides of the keys.
Any recommendations?

That is what I was thinking. Cause I always end up hitting the side of the keys and it hurts :X.
Just buy a mac keyboard, they work on PC.
or maybe do more work with your hands to strengthen your fingers and hands

How about one of those flexible flip-out keyboards? You know, the ones you just roll up.

Don't. Those things feel and respond horribly.

I have one of these i use at LAN party's cause its small and Dew proof.
There's also Chiclet keyboards like on the macs where all the keys are separate don't have much travel but its really nice.

This is what I use. It's very soft, like a laptop keyboard, but not as tiny as a laptop keyboard.

The razer lycosa keys have a nice rubber feel
You may want to think about buying a new keyboard. I don't really have any suggestions but common keyboards (as in, no extra buttons you don't need) often work just fine for me. I would avoid keyboards with curved keys and such because I usually have a bit of trouble pressing them down and they just feel so odd to use that something as simple as typing can become difficult. Shorter keys might help prevent your fingers from getting clipped by the keys while typing, but keys that are less resistant when being pushed down may be even better; You may even want a combination of the two. If you are able to try some keyboards that are on display at a store near you, you may want to try those keyboards out before purchasing one.
