After some incredible achievements over the last year and a half, I am announcing my departure from Rev3 Games and Discovery Digital Networks. Sixteen years in front of the camera covering the videogame industry has brought me to a point where I am ready and desiring to explore new opportunities. While I would never say no to doing one more review, interview or opinion piece, the time feels right to explore new avenues inside of gaming that help further the medium. The audience, my wonderful and talented co-workers and the last year at Rev3 Games will forever be appreciated for what was accomplished. There never is a right time to part ways with something that has become as natural as breathing, but things do end and now feels right.

Leave it to Sessler to end with a Burroughs quote.
Welp, no reason now to stay sub'd to revision 3 now

yeah let's be real, Rev 3 is going to loose a shitton of G4 fans.
So he's left to make a sorta lawyer thing for media?
Shame, I've always really liked Sessler and trusted him as a reviewer. Hopefully his new endeavors go well.
Only reviewer I ever trusted on G4, and the only dude besides the guy from Destructoid whose opinion I wanted to hear at Rev3.

Consultant = sells knowledge/expertise as a service
No more reason to stay subbed to rev3 everyone else there is terrible and soulless.
That was unexpected.
Can't fliss flass the Sess sass.
if you take a step back for a moment and look at what Adam Sessler has done as a whole in terms of video game journalism, I consider him the most renown in that aspect. I have followed this guy since the fucking ZDTV days (before Tech TV) and there was never a moment where I questioned his knowledge or reviewing prowess. Adam Sessler is the guy who I most trust when it comes to video game journalism. He has a genuine love for the industry, and he knows how to make damn good reviews.
Interesting to see. I used to come home from school and watch Extended Play on TechTV all the time, he is a huge inspiration to me ever since my child eyes beheld what he did for a living. I consider him my biggest influence in the scene and the greatest reason I am doing what I do now. He is a great mind and an even greater wit and I hope his endeavors go well.
This consulting firm thing could be a really really good move, someone with the expertise and knowledge that he has leading one up gains all my respect and I hope to see it influence many a studio for the better. Sail on, you beautiful bastard.
Wow really can't believe he'd do this. I honestly expected him to become some kind of Roger Ebert of games but guess he's just gonna go into the background now and be apart of some firm. Ah well.
nooooooooooo
damn old balded fuck, ill miss you.
Maybe it was best, his outlook on the industry was slipping ever since he left G4, and while he has had a lovely track history, I felt he was becoming distant from both the problems of the industry, and the actual link between him and the people who watch his videos. One example I can think off on the top of my head is how he admitted he never played DMC 3 or 4, despite telling off old fans of the series with the DMC:DMC scandal.

Also the whole Gone Home thing and some dubious SJW stuff he seemed to chime in about.
I still like the guy though and as others have said it's a shame. Poor Rev3 though the Sess was basically the flagship and figurehead everyone else there is meh.
Be interesting to see the statistics of their subs over the next few weeks.

Tbh that scandal was rather stupid and he had every right to do so.

Adam Sessler and Max Scoville were the only reason to watch Rev 3. Not saying the other reviewers suck or are bad, but they don't seem to have the same charm or enthusiasm as those two.
What happened to Max anyway?
He left Rev 3 and Destructoid, and then a few weeks later went back to Destructoid since they offered him a higher position or something.
Oh.

he also does comedy button podcast with another rev 3 guy, scott bromley
One less drug addled SJW in the industry.
I think Sessler is great for the reasons mentioned above and I'm really going to miss him. With that said, some of the things people say about him on other sites really pisses me off. Just look at this shit http://n4g.com/news/1485915/adam-sessler-leaving-his-days-as-a-video-game-personality-behind
the cocaine got to him
Gimme job Sesslie
Actually, I'd work at a Media Consulting Firm. I've been in the media field for 3 years
obviously maybe not that one, but it seems like a cool job with lots of $$$$
its always good to have the outsiders opinion on the reboot of a franchise though
Not really.

He pretty much discredited himself permanently by giving gone home goty for 2013
I'm not surprised. Whenever I watched his reviews on Revision3 I kept thinking "he doesn't look like he's enjoying this anymore."

it's an interactive narrative though
there's nothing wrong with that but come on, there are far far better things to have picked
that thing, it's not even slightly close to GOTY.
