Crazy because I cannot think of any logical reason why my internet is suddenly so slow. I was happy on my 16mb line yesterday- all was good. My DL was 16mb as mentioned and my upload was about 0.8mb This morning I noticed videos buffered slowly, so I did a speed test to find my download speed had been reduced to about 1mb and my ping had shot up to about 200 (where before it was about 40) to the same speedtest server. My upload did not change much, if at all. So, restarted PC and router- no difference. I phoned my ISP, they said there seemed to be no problem with the line. Then I checked the speed in the router and to my surprise it was 16mb dl and 0.8mb up However, my computer still only received 1mb dl and 0.8. I am hard-wired by ethernet to the netgear router Alright so it could be the: ethernet cable- Swapped for a new one, no difference in speed router- swapped to a non-wireless router, no difference in speed yet same speed reported by the router computer- tested on various laptops and phones, all showed the same slower speed I simply don't understand how it's reaching the router at 16mb yet reaching ALL computers through ANY cable/wireless connection or ANY router I tried changing everything else, too. The ADSL filter and the internet cable to said filter, to no avail. Close steam and utorret if you have them open on any computer. Countless times have my friends complained about slow speeds and one of the two programs were downloading something silly in the background. Also both programs run at start-up so a restart would only pause the downloads.

Odd problem, what routers are the two? They would probably benefit from having Tomato or DD-WRT installed on them if they are compatible.
