I've been trying to fix a laptop that has had water damage. I took it apart and the only damage I have found is on the motherboard. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for a fix. Thanks! It's a HP DV2845se laptop. Just ask if you need any more info. Here is the motherboard And here is a closeup of the damaged part (it's just a bit right of the center of the photo, underneath the labeled "R200 and C345)
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's not really something that's fixable. The water shorted something out badly, and at least one layer has been blown off the board. You're going to need a replacement motherboard, and it might just be cheaper to buy a new laptop if any of the other components were damaged by the surge. :ohdear:
