Just like the title says, there's a black bar on the side of my screen and i can't reach half of my desktop items or my start menu easily. Any solutions? This started after I updated my ATI drivers to 11.7.

Have you checked the graphics card settings?
A lot of monitors have some sort of "auto adjust."
Try fiddling with the monitor itself.
Whenever this happens to my monitor all I have to do is turn it off then on again.
If you don't have auto adjust you can change the screen position via the monitors OSD, or your Nvidia/Catalyst control panel.
Haha ATi drivers, unfortunately they fucking suck. I just got rid of my 5770 cards and bought an nVidia 560. I don't know why ATi are so fucking incompetent but literally every driver release they put out would fuck up one game or another. I was using 10.5 for MONTHS because anything after that would just cause utter fuckups.

I've never had a single issue with ATI's drivers though the years I've used ATI cards.

Only problem I've ever had was the top right cursor problem that they've fixed recently. (Took them a long time though)
They give me better performance instead of problems.

Well there's your problem
Try moving your graphics card 2 inches to the right.
I don't know V:v:V
