Chelsea Clinton to be honored by Variety, Lifetime
Chelsea Clinton will be honored with an achievement award from Variety next month, the magazine announced Tuesday.
The 37-year-old former first daughter, a vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, is rumored to be eyeing a political run in New York, the Daily News reported last month.
Variety, in partnership with Lifetime, will hand out the "Impact Honorees" awards during its annual “Women in Power” luncheon at the ritzy Cipriani restaurant in midtown Manhattan on April 18.
Who else is getting this award? Why pick her out of everyone else when it looks to me she hasn't had much of an impact at all?
Looks to me like it's the people in power behind the scenes to try to make her look really good, so one day when she inevitably does run for a seat (or president?) they can list one of these as her awards to paint her in a good light.
God dammit they are pushing her hard.

"Wow it didn't work when we shilled hard for for an unpopular candidate filled with controversy
What if we do it again but for her kid?"
I imagine this was already pretty much planned for when Clinton was suppose to win, and then credit Chelsea with some "contributed to the campaign of a century" award.
Now it just seems brutally awkward to set her up for political life.

You could read the article and find out the answer to both of your questions.
Other winners this year include Gayle King of "CBS This Morning," actresses Jessica Chastain, Blake Lively and Audra McDonald and media executive Shari Redstone.
According to Variety, Clinton is being honored "for her work with Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which empowers kids to develop lifelong healthy habits."
I can see it now...Election 2028: Trump Jr vs Chelsea. :suicide:
I guess nobody can arsed to read the source anymore before spouting off epic zingers because the Clinton name is involved.

Its not that, Its because most us worried of Chelsea repeating same mistakes as her mother did.

It's irrelevant, she'd get the award for standing in the face of a slight breeze. It's just dumb political back-patting and building PR for the world's ugliest member of a political dynasty.
Editor's note: This story originally stated Chelsea Clinton was to receive a “Lifetime Achievement Award.” It has been corrected to state that Clinton will receive an "Impact Award" from Variety in partnership with Lifetime.
There's a hell of a lot of difference between being given a Lifetime achievement award and a lifetime achievement award. :v:
If a clinton runs in 2020 I hope they get defeated hard at the democratic primary

if they actually have the gall to run a clinton, they deserve to lose and we as a nation deserve 4 more years of trump

Yes, yes we do, but as evidenced by HER TURN blue blood looks like a hell of a drug.
I swear to god if the Democrats try pushing another Clinton in 2020 I will vote for the god emperor just to spite them.

I guess she doesn't deserve any recognition for her activities or impact in social organizations because her mom ran for president and failed
Good for her. Childhood obesity is tragic.
