I bought some parts for my new build but I don't have enough money for windows. Now correct me if I'm wrong but the boxed retail versions of windows 7 have unlimited use of their product keys on any computer. I don't mean to beg, but if anyone has any retail versions of windows 7 lying around, could I use the product key?

Linux is friggin' awesome once you get used to it. I plan to put it on a second HDD at some point.

It's getting increasingly user friendly by the day. It's excellent for a free OS, though if he's building the computer for the purpose of gaming, it's not worth going with Linux.

Mac OS is based on Unix, which is NOT Linux by any means.
Note;
A retail license allows you to install Windows 7 on one PC at any one time. As such if you have multiple PC's you need multiple licenses.
