If the thumbnail shows a photograph of happier days I would assume that picture was taken before the DLC happened, and she already had the closed scar in that picture so it probably comes from a much earlier event than the dlc.

It's based on the comic? Great... There are so many characters in this game who have a more interesting backstory and some don't even have one at all.

I kind of feel like this will be a completely stealth-based DLC.

I mean, by this point Ellie hadn't even met Joel and didn't she learn most of her stuff from him? I trust Naughty Dog, but I feel a better DLC idea would have been either Ish or the time between some of the time-gaps in the story.
