In approximately 2-3 years I plan to upgrade (almost) everything inside my computer. Current specs: AMD Phenom X4 9850+ Quad-Core 4GB RAM 750GB HDD (7,200rpm) 2x ATI Radeon HD 4670 in CrossfireX Of course, I'd need a new mobo and PSU. I'd want a new CPU, new RAM, and new graphics cards, maybe add a secondary HDD and Blu-Ray. My question is, can I just hook up all the multi-colour LED's in the case to the new mobo and everything will work fine?
Why would you want led's in your computer case?
In 2-3 years new parts will be available. There's nothing we can tell you.
Why would you want led's in your computer case?
Not inside, but on the outside. I can use Alienware AlienFX to change the colours ;) [editline]11:43PM[/editline]
In 2-3 years new parts will be available. You bought a alienware to just last 2 years? :bang: GOD DAMN AGRHGAHGFAHGHFAGHRGAR /rage Why are you asking us about stuff in 2-3years i the future? for all we know the 487x2 could be classed as budget graphics by then

If Intels tick tock keeps up, then that year there will be 22nm or another architecture (not sure if you count this year or not). God i hope sandy bridge is done by then  I don't want to wait another 2 years for a new architecture! 2011 is going to be a great time to buy a CPU.
Better idea: Build a time machine, Buy i7 975 for $50, and dual 5870x2's for $60. Come back and brag.
You know what I find fascinating and awesome about technology? Back in "the day" people creamed themselves over 8GB HDD's and a Intel i486 CPU, we laugh at that shit now. Think of it, a rig with triple SLI Nvidia GTX285's Core i7 975 with 12GB RAM and 2TB HDD space would be the PC gamers of today's dream. And 10 years ahead of now, we'll laugh ourselves into needing diapers at that, let alone the 486. Please share your thoughts on this.
You know what I find fascinating and awesome about technology? 8GB HDD's and a Intel i486 CPU
Those did not exist at the same time
Those did not exist at the same time
Thanks for the correction, but still people creamed when either of those came out. :v:
I hope you didn't only just buy that computer with a Phenom in it.
My question is, can I just hook up all the multi-colour LED's in the case to the new mobo and everything will work fine?
Guys, do you think you could just answer his damn question? He doesn't need to know about components, he needs to know about hooking up LEDs.
Why would you want led's in your computer case?
Because nobody has LEDs in or on their computer case because nobody thinks that looks good. :downs: I don't know the answer to his question, but man, FP PC building forum, I am seriously dissapoint.
We all instaflame as soon as alienware is mentioned.
We all instaflame as soon as alienware is mentioned.
Or ugly ricer LEDs.
Or fanboys, but they deserve it.
Who buys 4670 crossfire? It costs as much as a 4870 1GB but performs worse than a 4850.
People who think that having 2 cards is better than any single card regardless off the 2 cards.
Are the LED's on an internal USB header? If so, youll be able to use them. USB headers havnt changed for years, and i dont expect them to in the future.
