Hi, I was customizing a laptop from Sager, and was wondering if this was a good spec-to-price ratio, or if I'm getting ripped off for something (I have no experience in buying PCs). Also, how is customer support like for Sager?
NP9130 Laptop Display 15.6" Full HD LED-Backlit Display with Matte Finished Surface (1920 x 1080) - Back Order! If you want to look at alternatives try: Asus, Sony, MSI.
A PC isn't portable though. He just wants a laptop that's powerful to play good games
There are plenty of portable pc cases. A Bitfenix Prodigy ITX build would be perfect at this budget.
One thing to add is PLEASE spend an extra few quid and get a 7200RPM Hard Drive. The difference will be huge.
Aw wow I thought this was the thread where the guy was asking for a laptop for LANs, my bad
There are many more reasons for wanting a laptop than for LANS. Spend half of the time living with your mum and half with your dad? Try carrying a desktop back and forth twice a week. Want to cycle to a mates to play some games? Try carrying a Prodigy, a monitor, keyboard and mouse on a pedal bike. Hell, want to game sometimes in your bedroom and sometimes downstairs? That's a pain with a single desktop.
I move my desktop around my house weekly, and the tower weighs like 40 pounds itself. [editline]10th December 2012[/editline] But I see your point, and I do kind of agree.
mSATA SSD Drive with Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) Preconfigured and enabled for max performance -------- Intel mSATA SSD Drives -------- Intel 40GB 310 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured for Intel SRT [+$120.00] Intel 80GB 310 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured for Intel SRT [+$200.00] -------- Crucial mSATA SSD Drives -------- Crucial 32GB M4 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured for Intel SRT [+$80.00] Crucial 64GB M4 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured for Intel SRT [+$100.00] mSATA SSD Drive configured as an OS Drive ( Primary Drive C: ) -------- Intel mSATA SSD Drive -------- Intel 80GB 310 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive (Primary Drive C) [+$200.00] -------- Crucial mSATA SSD Drives -------- Crucial 128GB M4 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive (Primary Drive C) [+$135.00] Crucial 256GB M4 Series mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive (Primary Drive C) [+$230.00] mSATA SSD Drive as a Storage Drive -------- Intel mSATA SSD Drive -------- Intel 80GB 310 Series mSATA SSD (Storage Drive) [+$200.00] -------- Crucial mSATA SSD Drives -------- Crucial 128GB M4 Series mSATA SSD (Storage Drive) [+$135.00] Crucial 256GB M4 Series mSATA SSD (Storage Drive) [+$230.00]
Basically should I get an SSD as the OS Drive, as a storage drive, or as the special Intel Smart Response Technology?
The SRT Isn't worth it, go for the 128GB M4 as primary OS (C) drive, and ideally go for a 7200 with the secondary drive.
