I recently bought an nvidia gtx 460, I was playing Mirrors Edge and it was working fine, but all of a sudden it refused to start. I see it in the processes tab in taskmgr, but nothing appears. I tried running it in compatibility mode for both windows xp and vista with no success. I also re-installed it twice and verified game content multiple times. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not much of a techie but try running it as administrator. It usually fixes a lot of really simple problems.
I take it you bought the game and did not pirate it? In case of pirating you might want to give a new crack a try.

Anyway...Make sure your drivers are up-to-date and Try restarting steam or your PC

I did buy it, I tried running it as administrator as well as in compatibility mode for both windows xp and vista. It was working before, I'm currently running on the nvidia beta drivers and am reluctant to rollback, however I can't seem to remember if the issue started before or after I updated to the beta drivers...
Oh, and I've beaten the game at least 3 times, I think its a great game and it was far from a dismantlement...
