• Anti Nuclear Weapons?

Well, I think Nukes have destroyed warfare and made warfare a much more deadly thing, and I think The USA should fund a project that could create some kind of anti nuclear defense field. Do you think it's a good idea facepunch? In Theory these weapons will be able to disable nukes so Warfare will be more upfront and personal instead of a I win button. It already has one

Anti-nuke? Like destroying nukes, stopping them, making them inert?

Everyone who has nukes are smart enough not to use them, they're more of a scare tactic
Woah, great idea, I bet that nobody has ever thought of anything like that before.
The biggest defense we have against nukes right now is basically just mutually assured destruction.
Anti-nuke? Like destroying nukes, stopping them, making them inert?
Anything to stop the radiation emitted from them and stop their blast radius.
Nukes are more of a "We all lose" button than an "I win" button
Woah, great idea, I bet that nobody has ever thought of anything like that before.
Not on Facepunch, smart one.
Haven't you heard of MAD?
Anything to stop the radiation emitted from them and stop their blast radius.
You can stop them mid air with ABM's, but once they hit the ground the damage is unstoppable. Just look at the Chernobyl region, still inhabitable. Plus the massive fucking heatwave and blast.
Haven't you heard of MAD?
Do you think a sadistic country would care?
Flaccid nukes
instead of a I win button.
If a country is stupid enough to nuke another country, it doesn't mean that they have won. War isn't as simple as you think it is, you know.
Nukes are the perfect weapon perfect being that nobody even dare unleash them. they are more bargaining tools and ...so to speak ...putting cards on the table if you get my meaning. no goverment no matter how corrupt is dumb enough to actually use one of them because if they did they know they would A: get wiped of the face of the earth before they can say "whos fucking idea was this" and B: noone wants to be that guy who started the end of the world There was a famous story i hear about where they designed the perfect gun those who were shot didn't die or even know that they had been shot but there was a red button that when pressed every "marked" person would die nobody dare touch it seen as nobody knew who was marked ...friends ...family ..lovers ..themselves the perfect weapon is one you never even have to fire

Well, we have an ICBM defense line, along the Baltic states and Poland, which almost caused some serious shit with Russia, but it doesn't really matter because the Russians were like "Fuck your shit" and built an ICBM that can get past it and we can't do nothin about it. But personally, as terrible as they are, I'd rather have a world with nukes (for now) than one without (for now) because as of yet, they've prevented two global superpowers from going to war beyond anything we can imagine (for now), which would have killed gigabillionmillions or something over who-knows-how-many-years. But because of MAD we didn't (yet). On the other hand, we almost used them several times, too, and could have wiped out Earth forever. But MAD made it so we didn't (yet). But we might (will).
Do you think a sadistic country would care?
I'm talking about the whole "I win" concept. Have you really won when you're dead?

I guess the only way a nuclear attack would happen is if al Qaeda "stole" a nuke from pakistan.
I guess the only way a nuclear attack would happen is if al Qaeda "stole" a nuke from pakistan.
I'm pretty sure if a leader on the scale of Joseph Stallin arose than we all would be in some serious shit, and I mean this can happen to any nuclear bearing Country.
Or just use Diamondillium. But really, once one terrorist organization (or government) uses a nuke (for un-warranted reasons), it will give us full rights to glass the fuck out of their shit... and build a Disneyland.
I guess the only way a nuclear attack would happen is if al Qaeda "stole" a nuke from pakistan.
They supposedly have at least one. I saw in a documentary on History that a "confidential informant formerly from the DHS (or maybe DoD or something)" said that there was one in some major city at some point. There's also still several many missing since 1991. And http://www.vbs.tv/watch/the-vice-guide-to-travel/bulgarian-dirty-bombs . Yes. So yea, there will be something, it's just a matter of time, y'know? I'll also point out http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110425/wl_mideast_afp/usattacksguantanamowikileakssheikh_20110425184242
