The remake will also arrive on PC, but because it is a totally different game, "there will be no compatibility" with the original release. Save files will not transfer, and a new purchase will be required to access the new content
Thanks for buying my game, buy it again now thanks.
Why?
Why?
$$$$
You'd get as much publicity making an entirely new game as you did making Binding of Isaac. I don't see why you need to recreate Binding of Isaac, unless there's some ideas you just desperately need to get out of your mind.
They should replace all Nintendo-console-based ports with a "happy version" of the game, where all the horsemen are replaced with unicorns and rainbows, and things like that.
Why?
Edmund had a ton of ideas that he wanted to use for it, but Flash was just too goddamn buggy, so he'll be remaking it in a new engine.

or maybe
flash bugging out was his whole plan all along...
I personally think it's kind of cool. Co-op would be fun and a new engine besides Flash would be nice, as long as it's not too expensive which I'm sure it won't be especially if you already own BoI.
I'm glad because Flash is a horrible idea for that game.
I'm fucking excited. There's absolutely now reason for anyone to bitch about this. I've had many many hours of fun out of the original. Well worth the 2.50 that I paid for it. I'm no doubt going to put in just as much time, if not more into this one.
Would've loved the original more if it wasn't so fucking laggy.
I have high hopes for this.

new content, not the remade game.
I hope Brimstone doesn't break again!
I hope it's remade for more consoles than the Xbox and the PS3. The 3DS and the PS Vita seem like they could run this game. Controller wise.

They actually tried to get it onto the Nintendo eShop, they refused on the grounds of religion.

I sincerely hope that the Mac port doesn't take a year like it did for Meat Boy then, BoI is one of the few games that I play regularly on my laptop.
The game and the expansion were dirt cheap, it was worth more than being charged as far as I'm concerned given the amount of time people spend playing on it.
For the huge price of less than $5, I got 22 hours of play time out of the game and expansion, and still play it occasionally. I have no problem with buying it again, completely remade with more bosses/power-ups and co-op support. One thing I really want though, is 1080p support.
Didn't he say this wasn't strictly confirmed yet? I remember him saying on a livestream last night that the news sites had suddenly just picked up on his Formspring answers and things, but it wasn't strictly being made.
Thank god, flash sucks
Cool. I'd buy it again if it's the same price.
Welp, haven't bought the game yet. Let's see how this works out.
Don't know if this was mentioned but as it is right now, the game is exploiting flash as much as it possibly can. The devs can literally had nothing more to the game.
I'm totally okay with a remake being released. The base game is already freaking huge and cheap as rocks, so this isn't like they half assed a first full-price game just to release a second one at the same full price. Plus local coop sounds freaking awesome.
I'd totally buy it again too. No remorse.

If it was for money the first game would not have been sold at a grand total of 8 dollars, including the soundtrack and massive expansion pack.
Played it for 190 hours... Yeah I think it was worth the money.
Thanks for buying my game, buy it again now thanks.
You guys need to learn the difference between remake and rerelease. This is going to be hugely different, it's even gonna have coop.
This has me hyped. I've sunk over 120 hours into Isaac with near 100% completion. Day 1 purchase. Who cares if I have to pay again, I'll probably get even more fun out of this.
FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
yes
this is good
[editline]29th August 2012[/editline]
holy shit local co-op yes

only thing that worries is that it's by a "new team"
edmund better work with them closely so they don't fuck with his particular brand of madness
I hope they don't change the design all that much. The artstyle of BoI is just perfect, it manages to be unique and very creepy, even unsettling at times while always being appealing.

Hate to break it to you but the art design is being totally redone, in a 16 bit style.

Yeah that's my hesitation, too. Edmund will apparently still handle the art side of things, but beyond that he's gonna be busy with "GAME 2" so who knows how this will turn out.

Heh I'm okay with that too.
As long as they keep the same creepy edge as the original I'm all for it.
[editline]30th August 2012[/editline]
And if they fuck up we'll still have the good old one to play with. It's literally an infinite game so yeah.
