This is just a thread for facepunchers with macs to share their tips for new users. Such as clicking X on a window will not fully quit the program, press cmd+Q to quit it.
Be warned /!\ that accessing DarkRP servers will be infested with little children, access at risk. Don't minge on sandbox too.
Cmd+H, not minimise.
Be warned /!\ that accessing DarkRP servers will be infested with little children, access at risk. When finder has focus, do 'Command + Shift + A', then 'Command + A' then 'Command + O' to open all the programs at once and piss off the person using the computer. Also, holding shift while minimizing is fun.
Shift+Cmd+4 lets you select an area of the screen to capture. Shift+Cmd+3 captures the entire screen. Images are saved to your desktop. If you have Snow Leopard Quick Time X can record your screen, record audio, and record video from your iSight Camera (better than Photo Booth). If you use terminal a lot, get an application called Visor. Its very cool.
When cmd+shift+4ing press spacebar to capture a window.
Command + Shift + Ctrl + 4 / 3 to copy the screenshot to your 'clipboard'. :eng101:
Smash your mac. just kidding, ctrl shift 4 and space to take picture of a selected window.
Defaults can be quite useful to edit certain annoying settings. http://www.macgeekery.com/gspot/2006-02/how_to_find_hidden_defaults_commands

Murder the Mac mouse acceleration issue. http://triq.net/mac/mouse-acceleration-preference-pane-mac-os-x Install that and set it to something negative, I use -1.7x and it feels a bit better than default. Apparently the author is working on a new version that will let you get into the gritty parts of tweaking the curves, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Firefox does pretty well on Macs, as does Chrome. Safari itself is pretty good, but if you go heavy on process requirments, then Safari takes a flakey, so Chrome and/or Firefox are your best bet.
CloudApp (http://getcloudapp.com) is a must-have.
CloudApp (http://getcloudapp.com) is a must-have.
What is it, please describe more.
The site, which I linked, explains it better than I can. Essentially it's a tiny app that sits on your menu bar. You can drag files onto the icon to upload them and it puts the short link on your clipboard. You can also take screenshots using the default Mac shortcuts and it'll upload those too.
It's fucking amazing.
Hold shift when you minimize a window I know this isn't very helpful, but I find it cool!
