I own a MacBook Pro right now, but I'm sick of the limitations macs have. I'm going to buy a PC, but I don't want to sacrifice style and cosmetics of the machine to do it. I have looked into the Dell Amado, but it doesn't have very good specs no matter how you configure it. So does anyone know of any nice looking laptops available for under $2000? I would prefer it not be made out of plastic.

[/QUOTE] this right here is an excellent example of how to get a shitty computer that's very expensive who cares what it looks like, it's a computer, a tool you use I don't ever recall anyone fretting about how pretty their hammer was cheapest solution is to just buy Windows 7 and stick that on your macbook

And im trying not to sacrifice performance. one year is hardly old and no matter how bad you think it is, there's no way it could be worse than a mobile celeron and intel graphics
Anything but Dell, Acer, and Apple is good. [editline]07:52PM[/editline] I love my Toshiba.

[editline]07:52PM[/editline] I love my Toshiba.[/QUOTE] I have owned a fair few laptops (6) and my current laptop - A Dell 1555 - has been by far the best built I have owned. There's nothing wrong with Dell. I like the fact that they are also largely upgradable, due to the fact that they are made to be configurable at the factory - Opening mine up reveals 3 more mini-PCIe slots, a SIM card slot, socketed processor, and the power connector for the backlit keyboard. one The LCD panels are also interchangeable AFAIK. - In other words they leave all the connectors populated even if your configuration does not need them. All I can fault is the price, but quite frankly it was only £50 more than comparable spec machines of the likes of ebuyer due to me buying it before the start of the academic year. And I got a lime green lid as well.
