MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Officers on Monday fatally shot a noncompliant man wielding a weapon resembling an ax, police said. In the video, a group of officers stands in the parking lot of Carl's Jr., apparently waiting for the suspect to exit. When a man leaves the restaurant, he walks toward police and raises a metal bar police say was three feet long. The man refused orders to drop the bar, police said, and the video shows deputies trying to get him to back off — a TASER was fired once but did not stop the threat — when the man raises the bar in the direction of an officer. One officer fired five shots, and a second officer shot the man five more times, according to KTLA. Paramedics transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead later. No other injuries were reported.
[url=http://www.policeone.com/officer-shootings/articles/4968683-Video Suspect killed at Calif. Shit hit the fan
Ouch. He got shot in the chest like 6 times.
The Guys in the background make this that much better.
My friend was right nearby this and was at the Carl's Jr. hours before it even happened.
They tried to taze him, but he wasn't fazed! The bullets they shot did more than graze.
That is some scary shit man, how he just struts out of that place, turns, and just gets shot. Sort of stange how abrupt it is, like you can almost feel that he never really saw it coming, the sudden weight on his chest, the broken bones, the brusing and the bleeding, no matter how much he prepared himself. Also, totally offtopic, but is it me or does that weapon he's holding look sort of like the sledgehammer from RF:G?
Dude I was at that Carl's Jr. an Hour before it happened. Now I can't get biscuit sandwiches before I go to school. D':

That looks more like a pipe bending tool. Bascially this: on the end of a pole. We have one at work. They're heavy as hell and would cause some serious damage if you got hit with one.
Wow, the guys doing the filming are disturbingly callous. Are we really that desensitized to someone getting killed in front of us? I mean, the shooting was justified and all, but they were fucking laughing it up.

Perhaps the weapon can narrow down causes why he might have done this and various people for the police to interview, since I don't imagine very many places have these just lying about for the taking.
clearly not enough shots were fired
clearly not enough shots were fired
if they just fired once and killed him, i'd ask for more thorough investigation because that's an intentional shot to kill without trying firing like five times is out of panic and not surprisinging since taser didnt stop him, then he STILL went towards the officer with that thing still sad situation i guess

Something tells me this man was not entirely right in the head to just shrug off a tazer like that.
Justified Shooting btw.
Only the first 5 really, and even thats kind of excessive. The goal should have been to get him to stop going after the officers, not kill him. It even looks like he had his back turned when he goes behind the car. I'd like to know how it started, maybe I'd be a tad less sypathetic.

I think my teacher who was a former SWAT said it was because when the suspect is hyped up on adrenaline a couple of shots isn't going to just stop them.
I was kind of hoping this happened at the Carl's Jr. by my school, so we'd actually have something interesting to talk about instead of how much we hate the Patriots and Giants.
it's always bad when someone is killed but i can't see anything else the police could have done honestly
Nope, police officers are trained to keep firing until you are down on the ground. I think my teacher who was a former SWAT said it was because when the suspect is hyped up on adrenaline a couple of shots isn't going to just stop them.
And this makes complete sense, even more so when the person doesn't even react to the taser (other than pulling the barbs out) Hell, I don't even know how he just shrugged it off.
And this makes complete sense, even more so when the person doesn't even react to the taser (other than pulling the barbs out) Hell, I don't even know how he just shrugged it off.
From what the assholes filming this it seemed the taser might have only glanced him. Considering the suspect was about to swing for the officers head it is lucky that the other officer reacted.
what's worse is the assholes filming this laughing their asses off at somebody being fucking killed in front of them
You can actually see the taser's probes hit the suspect in the face, and he casually rips them out of his face and turns to strike the officer who tased him. Not much more you can do at that point than shoot him, sadly. At least the good guys came out on top and no one but this psychopath was harmed.

Well'p what can I say, there shouldn't be any debate on the subject. Dangerous suspect was about to hit an officer with a potential life threatening weapon, and he was taken down.
Police are trained to shoot once in the chest to stop, if that doesn't work, fire again, and if that doesn't work, shoot their head Why did he feel the need to shoot him in the chest 6-7 times?
He must've been on some strong shit (PCP? Angel Dust?) to brush off getting tazed in the face and then casually pulling the prongs out of his cheek. Not to mention 5 rounds to the chest, and then another 5 as he propped himself up against that car for a second or so. The dudes in the background sounded like they were watching a tv show rather than a living person getting killed no more than 50 feet away. After tazing the suspect, the officer was fumbling for his gun. If you watch closely you can see him stumble backwards as the suspect approaches him with the pipe bender raised. The K-9 officer shot to protect the first officer. After that happened, the first officer had his gun ready and shot the suspect again.
