My friend used http://hindocarina.com/enjoy/learn.shtml Google anything else you might be curious about too.
OMG you play an instrument that has no real desireable properties except it appears in a game, UR SO COOL
How do you know of his actual reasons to play it?
Don't buy it from nintendo.
They're easy as hell to play. Just learn the fingerings.
How do you know of his actual reasons to play it?
Because that's the ONLY reason to pay the ocarina. It it is an agedinstrument that has no modern usage.
that's a stupid thing to say Congrats on earning your first dumb from me
Name one reason to play the ocarina, other than novelty. It's exactly like a flute, except it makes less sense.
Name one reason to play the ocarina, other than novelty. It's exactly like a flute, except it makes less sense.
There's another reason to play it there. It's in that game, and because its funny. Also I think your comments are silly.
IT'S FUCKING CRAZY LOOK AT THAT SHIT seriously though, I bet it does have a value other than that
Yeah well I bet it doesn't Ocarinas are worthless, face it
I wouldn't mind a larger bassier ocarina. I think it'd be awesome to have if you are into making electronic music and want an easy to play instrument to layer over the top.
Ocarinas are not worthless, They posses the ability to play soothing music, and let all the Zelda fans think your cool.

I'm sure you could play one for some folk music or something folk based. At worse you can play it for fun or play Zelda songs.
I have an 8-hole "Peruvian" Ocarina somewhere. Bought it, the soon forgot about it when I couldn't find any instructional materials online.
Name one reason to play the ocarina, other than novelty. And it fits in your pocket!
Yeah well I bet it doesn't Ocarinas are worthless, face it
You're an idiot. I suppose you think the acoustic or the classical guitar are worthless because the electric guitar is about right?
You're an idiot. I suppose you think the acoustic or the classical guitar are worthless because the electric guitar is about right?
NOt the same deal, Ocarina does sound like a flute. Also Acoustic guitars are more portable and have different feel.
NOt the same deal, Ocarina does sound like a flute. Also Acoustic guitars are more portable and have different feel.
Ocarina sounds similar to a flute, hardly the same. And a flute is exactly as portable as an ocarina and feels the same? Right.
Oh, and flutes cost tons more and are alot harder to play. But it's just the same, yes?
My point is, the Ocarina would never be even remotely popular if it wasn't for Zelda. Thus, people play it not for the properties of the intrument but for novelty and "retro" value.
That is true.
So fucking what?
I should have said that does not change the fact that they can be useful or fun.
useful or fun.
Choose one.
My point is, the Ocarina would never be even remotely popular if it wasn't for Zelda. Thus, people play it not for the properties of the intrument but for novelty and "retro" value.
It's been around for longer than 10,000 years. I'm pretty sure that qualifies it as more than a fucking novelty. Just because something has popularity in a location it wasn't traditionally played in because of something to do with popular culture doesn't mean that the only reason for playing it is so. The ocarina is as viable an instrument as any other mentioned in this thread, but clearly you're too much of an ass to back down so you'll continue contriving arguments out of areas of your argument you haven't been proven wrong on yet.
