The Dillinger Escape Plan is a Math metal band that is freaking awesome. They have 2 EPs and 3 full albums out, which are- Under The Running Board (EP) Calculating Infinity Irony Is a Dead Scene (EP) Miss Machine Ire Works Who else likes them? Panasonic Youth Abe The Cop Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants Milk Lizard Lurch Fix Your Face
Listened to some parts at youtube, and by first listen it really didn't do anything for me. I only found out about them 'cause I saw Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree) wearing a tee with them, and thought I'd check it out.
I liked that song that was on SmackDown vs. Raw, Unretrofied.
As far as mathcore / math metal goes these are defiantly at the top. Miss Machine is their best album me thinks.
Great, great band. Calculating Infinity and Miss Machine are classics of the Mathcore scene.
I like Calculating Infinity but that's all I've heard.
Coming from a pretty good fan (don't listen to them nearly as much as I used to) this thread lacks: 1. Calculating Infinity is a full album, not an EP. This album is with their first vocalist Dimitri. I happen to think it's their best album. 2. They had a self titled album out even before Calculating Infinity. 3. Irony Is a Dead Scene was an EP recorded with Mike Patton on vocals after Dimitri left the band. Mike Patton is amazing and thus is this EP. 4. Miss Machine was quite good, was the first album recorded with Greg Puciato on vocals. Panasonic Youth is definitely my favorite song off here. 5. After Miss Machine, their fucking amazing drummer Chris Pennie left the band for gay Coheed and Cambria, the drummer on their new album is Gil Sharone, beastly in his own right but not the godlike Pennie. Their new album Ire Works is a bit disappointing in my opinion. It has some good stuff like Fix Your Face, but songs like Black Bubblegum and Milk Lizard are the worst fucking songs the band has ever written, I can't stand them. Example A: Chris Pennie being awesome
I like 'em... Not heard much by them though.
Gil left the band, and now Dillinger has a new drummer, Billy Rymer. Hopefully he can do well and not pussy out. Oh, I also forgot to mention he's a Scientologist.
Reviving this thread because of this: New song off their upcoming album, Option Paralysis, coming out March 23rd 2010. In my opinion, it's pretty fucking great, reminds me of Miss Machine.
Great band, I like Botch a little bit better though in terms of mathcore.
Not to be disrespectful, but I seriously don't like them. I think they're horrible.

I like em, but I haven't listened to their stuff much.
from the sound of that new song, this new album should own. It shouldn't be too hard to top Ire Works lol.
New album's coming out soon. It sounds incredible. :pcgaming:
