Do you think television shows give the profession they perform advice to real life professions. Like, do you think Doctors will get advice from House or Grey's Anatomy? Or like FBI/Private Agents take advice from Burn Notice or Psych?
I think this would be bad practice if people would do this, because writers don't know shit about the jobs their shows characters do.
House would replace someones blood with bleach to save them.
No
No, they'd probably watch a show about their profession and think about what a load of made up shit it is
That would be a really dumb thing to do, it'd be like saying you could perform surgeruy because you've played Operation a few times.
I know for a fact that CSI is full of shit, it's exaggerated for the sake of storyline, DNA tests and forensic examination takes sometimes months to even get a little result from.
Also, you can't resuscitate somebody with a defibrilator, they're used to prevent cardiac arrest, not as some magical de-deadening machine.

Defibrillators stop... fibrillation.
It's usually vice-versa, writers sometimes have medical guidance or police guidance when they write scripts.

I doubt it. it seems 90% of the time the shows just talk completely out of their asses.

Pretty much. Us more computer savvy cringe at how they portray computers and technology.
Sometimes they do get real professional advice for the script though. Its just really rare (probably because it costs more money).
