Videos stream to my iPod smoothly, but are choppy as fuck on my computer

I've been watching some shows over HBO GO on my iPod the past few weeks, and now I decided to try watching on my bigger monitor, but the video is REALLY choppy on the same network that streams the video smoothly to my iPod.

What the fuck can I do to get it in decent quality?

My guess is that it sends lower quality video to the iPad, or maybe your PC isn't powerful enough to smoothly play it.

Hmm, I guess the quality idea would make sense, but I meet the requirements they gave me.

I'm getting a new laptop from my school once I start next week, and I'm moving tomorrow, so I guess I'll just wait until then

I'm assuming that the iPod is receiving a stream formatted specifically for that device. However on the computer it will be rendered on your computers hardware therefore there needs to be some sort of acceleration to pump a high resolution image to your screen.
