I have been a toe-walker (actually not my toes, the balls of my feet) for about 11 years now, and I'm SICK of it! I've tried everything- stretches, focusing on it, and other things, but I can't seem to stay grounded! The moment I stop focusing on it, pop! I'm back up on em. And another pro/con to this is, I have the biggest calves EVER for a 13 year old (that isn't obese) as a result. The bad thing about that is, there also very tight, and stretches aren't working.
Any tips? I'm very desperate.
Thanks, max.
Don't sign your posts, I am disappointed by this thread as I thought you would constantly walk around on your toes, not the ball of your feet, not happy :colbert:
I assume that was a stab at humor, hmm?
I always toe walk at shower because when I was younger I saw a very dirty floor at a swimming hall and I have been toe walking at pools and showers since then. I don't know a solution sorry.
I've always walked on the palms of my hands. I feel your pain, brother.

I too sometimes do it intentionally to avoid stepping on dead bees with my bare feet in the morning. As well ad other dirty/gross or sharp things

Nope, I was genuinely disappointed because I thought you always walked on your toes...
At least you aren't a fap-walker.

Don't sign your fucking threads, not a joke. Just annoying.
Oh hey, my name is Max too!
Anyway, I suggest using some sort of negative reinforcement. For instance, put something pointy on the bottom of your toes, so it hurts when you walk on them. Condition yourself, it works great for me.

wear thick socks all the time so you grow out of the habit and instinctively will stop doing it (eventually)
I toe walk too, the only time I walk heel-to-toe is when I'm wearing shoes. Course where I live this is practical since we have "goatheads" here, small SUPER FUCKING SHARP seeds that look exactly like caltrops. If I feel something sharp I can always rock back on my heel before the goathead has a chance to stab me though the foot.

But then as you put your heel down there is another goathead.
Go see a goddam doctor, thats what a friend of mine did.
He had to wear casts on his feet to get rid of his addiction.
Trust me, I have a P.H.D in walking.
Also, I came in this thread expecting toes walking away from OP's foot. Leave dissapointed.
When running it's actually desireable to run on the balls of your feet, compressing gently onto your heel rather than land heel toe as our heels have no natural shock absorbtion other than a thin layer of fat. It's like running on stumps, a wierd habbit induced by wearing stupid shoes with very padded heels.
Balls of feet:

Heels (OUCH):

But when it comes to walking heel-toe is more efficient because you aren't dealing with impact forces.
OP: Try walking faster. If you try and walk real fast on your toes you will either get tired extremely quickly or have to break into a run to get good flow.
Have you been diagnosed with autism or aspergers? That could be a reason. But that's actually mostly on the toes only, not the heels.

Yes but he's talking about the balls of his feet. The chunky bit our toes are joined to. It's impossible to walk on your actual toes, they are far too weak.
The only times I toe-walk is when Im at public swimming halls and such. The floors scare the fuck out of me

Oh right, I'm not a native English speaker so I thought by balls he meant his heels.
I walk on my toes when i'm inside :ohdear:
You may want to take a dance class. In dance terms, to be up on the balls of your feet is called being in relevé, or to rise. Maybe taking a modern class would help you embrace being in relevé, and also doing work that requires the three points of balance on your foot (both balls and your heel) on the ground. Proper balance requires that you have your went balanced on the two triangles of your feet.
When you do walk in relevé, you need to pay attention to where the brunt of the weight is going. Are you balancing between you first/second or second/third toes? If your balance isn't there, or it's somewhere else, you're probably at risk for hurting your ankles and kneecaps. The important thing to do is make sure your weight is evenly distributed in the right place.
You could also benefit from massage on your legs. You're putting a lot of pressure on your quads.

Umm, ball-of-foot walking and toe walking are the exact same thing, no one can walk on their toes alone without breaking them

I beg to differ, my girlfriend takes dance at the local college, she can walk on her toes..

Only when wearing shoes which allow her to. Lets see anyone do that barefoot.
Just be constantly aware of how you're walking and kick the habit that way.
It worked for me.
I have this issue as well. I just cant seem to stop, and its annoying as hell when people think im autistic or have assbergers because I walk on my toes. Also, krazipanda, you seem to not know what they mean by signing. by signing they mean you writing
"Thanks, Max"
and not saying you were walking on your toes instead of the balls of your feet. Just sayin, people dont like that around here.
When I'm about to cum, the gravitational force pushes me onto my toes.
Needless to say, I have 38" calves.
There is an actual condition where your brain forces you to walk on your toes, sometimes it can be triggered by having something puncture your foot, causing you to not have it touch the ground (think of a splinter on the bottom of your foot) or by having somebody say (stay on your toes). It's a weird form of OCD. There are cases where people will tell somebody that they need to do a ritual whenever they see or do something, which causes their brain to work on that impulse and make you do it. I suggest visiting a physician or a therapist to diagnose the problem. Hope you get your problem sorted out OP.
