Is it just me, or these openings are exactly the same?

Well, I have stumbled upon this song called "Dirt Room" by a band called Blue October (which is apparently quite famous).. and I've noticed something weird. I was sure I heard the opening of this song once.. at Audioslave's "Shadow on the Sun"
Well, I want your opinion.. and I want you to post similar songs (way too similar)!
Blue October - Dirt Room

and on the other hand:
Audioslave - Shadow on the Sun

notice the openings on both songs.
Also can audioslave sue Blue October for that, or what?
Quite similar, this happens a lot though.
I find the following pair of similar songs quite humorous :v:

I never really noticed any others, but then again I'm not a huge fan/listener of DT
well I noticed some stuff like the E.T. theme, some metallica riffs, etc
I performed Dirt Room in college last year, yet today is the first time I've heard even a note of the original song.
Thanks OP, breaking my streak :smith:

How are Muse pop?
They're famous, but they play heavy rock with lots of prog influence.
Only a little similarity but still nice.
Marvin Gaye - Abraham, Martin and John
Right at the beginning of the song on the album it starts like this (not allowed to put the whole song on there)

Only the very start of it, after that the acoustic guitars progresses differently.

Verse riffs are very similar. But to be fair, it's the same band and the same ALBUM.
Tell me I'm not the only one who hears this.

This song sounds like Metallica's Battery, and Through the Never, and a few others.

Sounds like boring pop rock to me, because I won't bother listening to it more than I have to
