Hello Facepunch, I am Owen W. Bicker. I am looking for people interested in a real-world project. I've had a plan to design and build an airship since I was young, and recently came to terms with the fact that there is no possible way I could do it alone. In fact, it would take me 10 years just to save up the money to begin. Now, if say, 30 people were to pool their money, efforts, and resources, we could easily have this complete in 5 years time. I've recruited a few people already, but more are needed to begin. My proposition is this: If you're interested, I request you register at our forum, blippopotomus.forumer.com.
I'm looking for people to take this project seriously and devote themselves to it. People willing to put real time and money towards this, even move to a determined location come building time. If you're interested in this project, please register at the forum. I'm not being picky as long you 1: don't put their opinions where it doesn't belong, 2: are somewhat intelligent (or if your not don't pretend you are), 3: don't think this will be some sort of expedition for violence or stealing. We are not pirates. We need as many people as we can aboard this. This doesn't mean we need to increase the ship capacity to ridiculous amounts, but instead we will be using a"shifts of 7" idea, basically 7 crew members aboard at a time with room for 3 more and cargo. The rest of the crew will take rotations every, say, month or so. Everyone will have their time I assure you. Anyways, if you are interested, please register. I hope to hear from some of you.

I don't really think that this is going to work out. Good luck though.
Also fyi, it seems like an advert for your forums with the consant "so register" thing. And sort of a scam too, as we have no idea who you are but we need to 'pool in money'.
Of all forums you could go to, you chose one based around games. No offence, but you're in the wrong place.

Well, I'm not asking for anything up front, all I'm requesting is that if you're interested, take a look at the forum, join the group, and when you realize this is a real project, send money if you're comfortable. And I'm not offering this with nothing in return, by helping fund the project you'd be a crew member and you'd be able to come aboard.

I've posted this elsewhere, I'm just hoping to find as many people interested in joining the crew as I can.
That sounds as realistic as:

I actually met up with him, wonderful guy. If you ever get the chance, take a trip to see Lincolns State of The Union Address.
chill out, rome wasn't built in a day. Work on smaller projects and get a degree in aerospace engineering before you end up doing something stupid
What work have you put in so far? Do you have any designs you made/found? Are there even goals set for this project?
I'm building an aircraft this spring and everything needs to be planned out far ahead of any build stage. Any project of this scale needs planning more than physical labor.
Also asking people to help, what do they get out of it? They obvious can't take home a piece of the airship.
