Mass Effect 4 should be a cop-buddy coop game where you play with a friend as a pair of C-Sec officers who don't play by the rules.

I call Blasto.
I love the Mass Effect universe. So I think a game in a different time period and with different characters could work out just fine, if it's done right!

I was thinking it would be a human with Special Forces training after the First Contact War teamed up with a veteran Turian who has a family and is days from retirement.
Years down the road? At least there's development time.

What, you mean Garrus? I'd play as Garrus
Holy shit they used a period
breaking new ground here
Buddycop C-Sec is what everyone wants.

That sounds like a bad porno.
Honestly, some kind of basic co-op system in ME could be really fucking fun. I mean you're nearly always with another squadmate, and the MP in ME3 was actually really enjoyable.

I've thought this since playing Mass Effect 1. The only problem is what you do during downtime. You spend good chunks of ME games walking around and talking to people or upgrading armor/weapons/your ship.

Having your buddy around for it could actually make some of the downtime bits pretty fun.

Could just do it like in War in the North where the characters can walk around the 'downtime' area and talk to people on their own. Would be awesome if they did it like War in the North; some NPCs might talk about different stuff with a turian character than they would with a human character, for instance.
On the actual missions they could adopt a TOR-like conversation system.
Probably won't happen but bah.
I always liked the TOR party conversation system. I don't know if its the best way of doing it, but nothing is more fun than having a group with a 3 to 1 Dark Side to Light Side ratio, and constantly choosing to do the evil things while the good guy gets left in the dust :v:
"uhmm hey... hey guys... m-maybe we can find a way that DOESN'T... you know... involve killing them?" *rolls a 6*
"FUCK IT" *rolls a 134*
I see a lot of Mass Effect fans wanting it to be set after the events of ME3, so they can see some of the consequences of the reaper/galaxy clash and shit. Pretty sad to see that they have copped out.
Chances are this means there won't be any interactions with the people ME fans came to love over the three games.
[sp]Without my beloved Garrus, I fear for the Mass Effect franchise that may be.[/sp]

I mean there's a 2 year gap where Shepard is dead that could be a kickass Space Batman simulator. A pre-ME3 game won't be very good if it isn't something referenced as already happening/hinted at in the existing ME lore. It'd be as consequence-to-decisions-less as ME3's ending.

Some sort of Co-Op missions are coming for the Multiplayer soon-ish.
