Cosmetic boxes are fine. This is how Battlefront 2 should have done it.
Call of Duty has stat-boosting weapon skins in crates since AW.
It states in the article that CoD WWII doesn't:
The contents of Call of Duty: WWII's loot boxes are almost entirely cosmetic, rewarding gun skins, emotes, callsigns, and soldier apparel. You might find timed XP multipliers in the mix, which will grant bonus XP earnings for a weapon or Division alignment.
Thats what they said about MWR and BLOPS3
Thats what they said about MWR and BLOPS3
With BO3 they never explicitly stated the supply drops would be cosmetic only, only the gunsmith attachment and weapon variants would be cosmetic. The supply drops weren't news when they made that statement. Wouldn't be surprised if they had a different system to put powerful guns behind a paywall too though.
Yeah they've done this shit before and I'm not falling for it again, around launch they'll be cosmetics and then further down the line they'll add weapons to the supply drops, I'm not fucking stupid, I'm not falling for this bullshit again.
