I need an IDE to SATA adapter.Any clue on where I could find one?
Are you sure you don't need a 4-pin (molex) to sata adapter?
IDE to sata adapters suck ass
So do you want to plug an IDE drive into a SATA plug, or the other way around?
I think this would do what you need better.

Not sure.
My old disk drive was SATA,and I got an IDE from a friend,so I need an adapter.
You have IDE ports on your motherboard. If you don't, then you have the weirdest motherboard on the planet.
Even if it's one port, you can still hook two devices up to it.
I use this adapter for plugging IDE drives into SATA slots, it works pretty well with great transfer rates

Your motherboard should have an IDE slot on the top right corner

But I'd still need an IDE cable then, right?

Cheaper and better to go to a Wal-Mart or something and buy one

Most motherboards come with them. Unless you bought a prebuilt.
If you just need a cable, head to a local computer company (like small time shit) and ask if they have any IDE data ribbons.
There is a place around here, if you ask for them they'll give them to you free. I don't know about where you live though. You may or may not get them free.

Unfortunately,I did buy my piece of shit prebuilt so there is no IDE Cable that came with it.
Do you think that WalMart would have one,or should I try to go somewhere else?
And I live in Hudson,FL.

I would look at a electronics store or those small time computer stores. I would say Best Buy but they tend to be expensive

Office supple stores might also sell them
Walmart probably wouldn't have any. You would have to go to a tech store.
Well,my sister works at Best Buy so I get discounts,so I'll try there.
There really isn't any tech stores around here though, but I'm gonna try to salvage an IDE cable from an old computer.

Just found a 20 Pin Cable,IDE?
I guess IDE's are 40 pin,fml.
If there's any computer you have lying around from like 5 years ago, it'll be packed full of IDE cables.

Maybe 2 or 3.

I looked.
They were all 20 pin IDE's,if that even is still an IDE.
IDE cables can be either.
The 40-way cables have much thinner cables as they have to fit in the same space. They allow faster speed, up to ATA133 as opposed to ATA100 IIRC.
So both will work, but it may not be as fast as it could be.
20 pin is floppy IDE. Will not work with hard drives, optical drives, etc. as far as I know.
I just double checked, I was wrong.
A floppy drive cable has 34 pins and 34 conductors.
A PATA connector has 40 pins and either 40 or 80 conductors.
