There’s no strategist pulling the strings, and no collection of burn-it-all-down aides egging him on. At the heart of the rage against Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, the campaign aides closest to him say, is Bernie Sanders. It was the Vermont senator who personally rewrote his campaign manager’s shorter statement after the chaos at the Nevada state party convention and blamed the political establishment for inciting the violence. He was the one who made the choice to go after Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz after his wife read him a transcript of her blasting him on television. He chose the knife fight over calling Clinton unqualified, which aides blame for pulling the bottom out of any hopes they had of winning in New York and their last real chance of turning a losing primary run around. And when Jimmy Kimmel’s producers asked Sanders’ campaign for a question to ask Donald Trump, Sanders himself wrote the one challenging the Republican nominee to a debate. --- “I don’t know who advised him that this was the right route to take, but we are now actively destroying what Bernie worked so hard to build over the last year just to pick up two fucking delegates in a state he lost,” rapid response director Mike Casca complained to Weaver in an internal campaign email obtained by POLITICO. “Thank you for your views. I’ll relay them to the senator, as he is driving this train,” Weaver wrote back.
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/bernie-sanders-campaign-last-days-224041 Really insightful. Seems like he was just a spiteful bitter old man behind all the rallies and ideas.
[Smear campaign intensifies] You realize most of us see through those half-truths and blatant misrepresentation of what's been happening this election right?
Really insightful. Seems like he was just a spiteful bitter old man behind all the rallies and ideas.
This sounds like something a GAFfir would say.
This is a very thin-veiled smear piece.
this reads like a blog, it's insulting just look at some of the wording they use when describing what sanders does
Bernie is endorsing plenty of potential senators and congressmen to help them get elected come November. It has never solely been about getting him to the white house because that alone doesn't get work done. Sure it is a huge shame its extremely unlikely he will ever be the President of the United States, but it doesn't end here. People thinking big change would happen with Obama without electing other people is the big mistake that was made 8 years ago. Also I would like to ask, isn't the DNC pouring all their campaign money into Hillary and leaving out any for other local elections?
Honestly I don't feel that Bernie's trying to be someone else or put up an act of being humble and benevolent. This is, as others have said, a shitty smear piece. I can see it coming from Harper (Which happened) I can see it coming from Trump. I can see it coming from Hillary. But I don't see it coming from Bernie Sanders.
The campaign is over, what's the point in smearing now?
shaming bernie sander supporters over to clinton
shaming bernie sander supporters over to clinton
I don't see anything pro-Clinton in the article
They're trying to damage his reputation to reduce his affect on the party now that it's clear he won't have a chance at the convention. Whether that be in people voting third party, writing him in, or advocating for policies he supports, it hurts the DNC's position, which they don't like.
I don't see anything pro-Clinton in the article
There doesn't need to be. Clinton is literally the only other person running against him in the primary.

All the delegates and officials that will affect the party platform at the convention are already set to go, this article won't unhinge any of them. [editline]9th June 2016[/editline] Imagine being so much against a candidate that you see conspiracy in any sort of criticism of your own.

Nobody except you is talking about delegates here, they're talking about the general election.
The campaign is over, what's the point in smearing now?
Not to comment either way on if this is a smear piece, but the point would be to kill a movement. The wave of supporters Sanders got--the people who are tired on the status quo--are a threat to the status quo, and as such need to be discredited and demotivated.
I read this after the primary yesterday. Not entirely sure what to think of its accuracy, but some of it is pretty disappointing if it's true. Taking it with some salt for now, just because I don't really know much about Politico or its reputation, and a lot of this is credited as "according to aides..."
That would only matter if there were primaries left for people to care about his reputation. [editline]9th June 2016[/editline] Imagine being so much against a candidate that you see conspiracy in any sort of criticism of your own.
I could see a possible motivation in sending a message of "It's not that a big a deal that Bernie lost, he wasn't that great anyway" to Bernie Or Bust-ers in order to get them to calm down and accept that their candidate is flawed just like Clinton, and maybe get them to accept her flaws and vote for her in the general. I don't necessarily think that's what's happening here and it may be a bit of a stretch, but to be fair, I think that's what people here mean when they talk about swaying people to Clinton.
even a bitter old man would be better than someone who is addicted to lying and another who is addicted to money
There have been so many thinly veiled smear posts recently. "Bernie's already probably lost so just switch over to Clinton" sums up the headlines for the last few months.
i guess its true what they say, socialism truly is a religion in itself. someone dares to criticize your perceived savior and you instantly dismiss it as propaganda

If it's any comfort to you, you've got quite the talent for showing everyone in a room the full magnitude of your intellect the second you open your mouth.
gotta say the knee-jerk reaction is amazing but the article is just libelous bullshit
Jesus dude there's no need to be such a dick about it.
I'm just annoyed after seeing the same uneducated nonsense in practically every one of the guy's posts.
Jesus dude there's no need to be such a dick about it.
Sure there is. If someone makes stupid blanket statements they deserve to be chastised
Jesus dude there's no need to be such a dick about it.
I don't believe I was being a dick anyway. All I said was that people are able to tell how smart he is as soon as he says something. It's up to him to interpet that as he will. If he decides that's an insult, then he himself comes to the conclusion he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
Seems like he was just a spiteful bitter old man behind all the rallies and ideas.
And Hillary is just a spiteful bitter old woman behind all the rallies and ideas. Does that mean you're implying it's time to vote Trump?
ive visited canada, and am friends with several canadian residents who all confirm my research about the poor health care system. your assumptions are poor
I've lived in Canada for thirteen years, and you're full of shit. By the way, our shitty healthcare system with its alleged long waiting times saved my little brother's life by performing open brain surgery on him after he had a mini stroke. Some of the best doctors in the country oversaw his care, and his surgeon was one of the best in his field. He's made a full recovery now. In the US, that would've plunged almost any family into lifelong debt. Know what it cost us? About two hundred dollars. For the air ambulance that came to retrieve him when he collapsed playing soccer. People who need urgent care in our country get it fast, ER waiting times are short (And completely nonexistent if you need immediate aid), and medicine costs a fraction of what it does for you guys. Again, take your propaganda bullshit and shove it back up your ass. Sanders, by the way, would've tried to push through a similar system for you guys, based on the belief that access to good healthcare is a basic human right - not a privilege reserved for the rich.
