Miiverse, the social network built into the Wii U that lets users exchange messages, share gameplay hints and post drawings from the console, is now accessible from PC and mobile devices through a web browser.
Facepunch rating a console social integration winner? Did I enter the bizarro universe?

this is just my opinion but the miiverse feels far less hamfisted than other social network gimicks
Just ordered my Wii U Deluxe yesterday.
Had some money to burn and I would've ended up buying it anyways.
I still find it weird that tigerdirect is the only place I know of online that doesn't collect sales tax in newyork saved me like 40 bucks.

For some reason Miiverse has the ability to have a good game discussion without a lot of shitposting, and the drawing aspect is really fun (some people are crazy creative with it).

Social integration definitely isn't some sort of guaranteed curse at all. In the case of miiverse, it's a built in forum for the WiiU (and soon 3ds).
Since when was social integration inherently a bad thing? If the game has a central focus around it than yeah, it's a problem, but if it's like NFS MW 2012 where you have friends leaderboards and avatars on billboards than it doesn't decrease enjoyment value at all.
Some of the drawings made by users on Miiverse are pretty cool.

the extremely heavy moderation probably helps
Looks like it is going to be extremely easy to port SS of Wii U games now.
