This is good news. Hopefully the console will start getting some decent third-party support. The gamepad is a really interesting concept and I want to see it used for more than just menus and map screens.

I think Mario Kart 8 has had the biggest launch hype I've seen from a Nintendo game in a looong time.
They also put out that MK8 Wii U bundle which came with the game and an extra controller.
Which I just bought a few days ago. I regret nothing.

With the amount of advertising, publicity, and "nostalgia" that's being tacked onto SSB, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the biggest selling WiiU title for a while.

even if MK8 sells more, I feel like SSB will sell more consoles, I'll buy MK8 but I'm not going to get a Wii U to play it, I'm going to get a Wii U for SSB though, and pick up MK8 as well.

While that's true the new Smash seems to have way more hype behind it than MK8 did.
