• I have no aspirations in life.

If this is the wrong section, mods please move it. I figured it would fit in general discussion. I'll be graduating high school soon, and most likely going to a college. The problem is, after college, i have literally NO idea what i want to do with my life. People always ask me "What is it that you could see yourself doing after college?" And i think, I want to actually LIVE. I want to travel the world, not work a bullshit job, that i know i won't like. I want to explore places, have fun, actually see what life means. I have no idea what job career i would like to spend my life in, and i can't see myself doing anything for that long in a time period. I've considered joining the military to follow in the footsteps of my dad, and it appeals to me. Sometimes at least. At other times I think, what if i don't agree with a current military venture, i would be forced to fight for something i have no belief in. To anyone who has had this feeling, what did you do?
You'll most likely be able to find out when you're IN college, says a lot of my friends.
Take a gap year then. You might know about what you want to do in life after a little travelling.
You'll most likely be able to find out when you're IN college, says a lot of my friends.
It just seems unlikely. I hope i do find something though.
You aren't going to know what you want do without trying things out, just thinking wont help you too much, get out there and start experiencing things.
Become a guide. Study marine biology.
Get a part time job, save money and travel to Europe, and discover your interests. You wont find out what you want to do by just sitting there.
Join a military reserve, I don't know what kind of organisation you guys have over there but I'm sure there is some part-time military thing going on, it will give you some degree of experience as to what military life is like and you can make up your mind on it or just keep doing what your doing. While you do that go to college and study something that interests you, there must be some thing out there that you are interested in like computers, mechanics, history, science?. It's not a sentence to spend your life in a job related to any of those it's just something to help you along the road.
It's good to not have high aspirations because you might actually reach them if you set your aspirations lower. I know one friend who merely wishes to live in a monastery, and another who wants to be an accountant whilst living in a flat.
Also, what kind of classes have you really enjoyed during your high school career? I remember I took a culinary class in high school just for an easy grade and ended up really liking it, even thinking about attending Culinary School/University.
All you need is some imagination

Im pretty interested in medieval type history, but i don't see a good career coming out of either of these.
Become a guide. Study marine biology.
Listen to the IKEA propaganda machine. Fix our oceans.
Become a biologist.
One thing is for certain, you're going to be poor.
are you into archeology at all?
One thing is for certain, you're going to be poor.
Most likely. Maybe i'll get in a car wreck and die before i have to make a decision on it.
Dance your pants off.
Most likely. Maybe i'll get in a car wreck and die before i have to make a decision on it.
Wow that's quite optimistic :v:
Maybe i'll get in a car wreck and die before i have to make a decision on it.
That's the spirit.
Im pretty interested in medieval type history, but i don't see a good career coming out of either of these.
You would be surprised.
' I love weightlifting, it feels great to improve on myself. My friend went to school for physical education, and I'm not positive on what he wants to do, but he may become a personal trainer. He's really big into fitness and working out.
chill the fuck out and remember that life is just a ride
I have no idea what to do either. I always think "Right, in the future I'll go and do stuff."
welcome to the club wooo
NZT-48 is the answer. You'll become a senator.
Son. You'll be the president of the United States!
I had that same feeling, then I got into film/media. I have never looked back on that decision.
Don't freak, bro. I'm a senior in high school too and I've been having the same kind of feelings. I think everyone does. From what you've said about traveling and doing something meaningful, I would suggest looking into an over-seas organization like the Peace Corps or something. I hope that helps.
I'm in the same boat, but I'm not a citizen of the country I live in yet, so I've no choice but to have a gap year to work throughout to afford citizenship and a decent place to live before I start Uni. Gives me extra time to think about things, I hope you get some perspective too.
