At about 4:20, it started raining hailing really hard. We heard our radio telling us about a tornado warning, and we also had it on TV. We looked outside and there was the funnel cloud, rising and falling. Two of my sisters friends were driving by, so they parked in our driveway and went inside. Once we got down to the basement, all of our ears popped suddenly. After a while, we went back upstairs and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Then we saw the front door shattered. There were tons of trees destroyed. One was even pulled out of the ground and tossed about a half-mile away. My sister's friend's car was pushed back and turned 90 degrees. A bunch of emergency services came over (cops and firemen) and checked out was going on, shortly followed by a news crew. This was the closest I've ever been to being hit by a tornado in my whole life.

Is it true that a tornado sounds like a freight train going by?
I wonder if that was the same storm that went rolling through here around 6:30 PM. It wasn't nearly as bad, but there were a few severe thunderstorm watches issued.
